♥️ I was today's day old when I first heard the term "Galentine's Day". And not from Maria first. Remember, chocolate goes on sale on February 15th. Happy Day after Valentine's Day on Sunday! I'm going to post this now so you remember.

Something to think about as you plan your garden/patio/balcony/Juliette balcony/allotment garden.

If you want more butterflies, the goal is food from spring to fall, not just one “butterfly plant.” A mix of bloom times keeps your garden like a year-round café. Simple butterfly-friendly strategy:
🟣 Plant in clusters (butterflies spot bigger patches faster)
💧 Add a shallow water spot (a saucer with pebbles works)
🚫 Skip pesticide sprays—especially during flowering
🌿 Extra credit: include a few host plants too (that’s where caterpillars grow up), not just nectar flowers.

This is exciting news! Vancouver Island University (VIU) has more than one campus in different communities: Nanaimo (main campus), Cowichan and tiwšɛmawtxʷ (Powell River, on the mainland.

Royal Roads University, also on Vancouver Island, offers blended and online degrees, up to the Doctorate level.

So we have lots of examples of multiple campuses and different modalities in Canada to consider.

I hope this new University can provide different options for students, similar to what is on offer at Yukon University.

Our government is investing in a new Inuit-led university in Nunavut.

The BC government plans to stop supporting 1/3 of youth on the Autism Spectrum, with the other 2/3s also being affected. April may be autism awareness month but we all need to step up now more than ever.
