The calendar year has started, so why does clarity still feel out of reach?

If you expected a strong push forward and instead find yourself slowing down, reflecting, or reassessing, there’s a reason for that. This period is not about acceleration… it’s asking for completion.

Rather than rushing ahead, the closing phase of the Wood Snake supports finishing what’s been lingering, reviewing what the past year revealed, and allowing unresolved themes to settle. This isn’t a lack of motivation. It’s a natural pause before the fast-paced energy of the Fire Horse begins.

Today we welcome 2026, a Universal Year 1… the beginning of a brand-new 9 Year cycle.

This is a powerful period we’re in right now. Between now and February, we are also completing the Year of the Wood Snake. The Snake represents shedding… releasing old layers, outdated patterns, and anything that no longer serves us so we can move forward lighter and clearer.

This phase is a beautiful, sweet spot. We’ve completed Universal Year 9 and we’re in the final phase of the Snake year, just before transitioning into the Year of the Fire Horse, a year known for momentum, speed, opportunity, and forward movement.

Before that fast-paced energy takes over, this is a time to pause.
A time to reflect.
A time to set boundaries.
A time to complete or release what didn’t serve us so it doesn’t follow us into the new cycle.

In the coming weeks, I have so much to share about preparing for a strong and aligned entry into this next phase, and more guidance will be coming soon.
For now, take a breath and express gratitude for the blessings already present in your life.

Tomorrow marks the final day of the year and energetically, it’s a powerful moment of completion.
In Feng Shui, there are 9 sectors in a home. There are also 9 life paths, and 9 universal years. We are now completing Universal Year 9, the final phase of a full nine-year cycle.

One meaningful way to work with this energy is to release one item from each of the nine areas of your home. Each sector corresponds to a life area… for example, the Southeast represents wealth, North represents career, West relates to children and creativity, and the Centre reflects health and overall balance.

By consciously releasing one item from each area, you are symbolically closing chapters across all areas of life that have served their purpose. This isn’t about decluttering everything and doesn’t need to be overwhelming. One item per area is enough. It’s about intention, not perfection.

As we prepare to enter Universal Year 1, the start of a brand-new nine-year cycle, what we clear now frees up the energetic space to create a strong, supportive foundation for what’s ahead.
Start small. One item per area. With awareness and purpose.

As we move toward the end of the year, we’re nearing the completion of Universal Year 9 and preparing to enter Universal Year 1... the beginning of a new nine-year cycle.

After the holidays, our homes energy often feels more scattered. Decorations, gifts, extra items, and unfinished tasks can quietly affect our energy and focus. What we don’t clear physically lingers mentally and emotionally as well.

This is a powerful time to release what’s no longer supporting you... in your home, your thoughts, and even your digital space. Making room now helps create clarity and allows new opportunities and connections to flow in the new year.

Start small. Set aside 30 minutes, put on music you enjoy, and begin letting go of what no longer belongs as you prepare for the year ahead.

For me, living a Feng Shui lifestyle means being intentional with how I show up for others. I like to pause and think about the person I’m reaching out to... who they are, what they’re working on, or what matters to them and send wishes that feel personal and sincere. Even a short message can carry a lot of meaning.
