Faithful Hearts, Human Minds: Mental Health in Islam ☕🌙
Join us for Being ME’s next Coffee Therapy, a warm and intimate space for sisters to come together and have honest, meaningful conversations around mental health through an Islamic lens.
Mental health and emotional wellbeing are part of our deen. Caring for the heart and mind is an essential aspect of our faith, and Islam encourages reflection, balance, and seeking understanding when navigating life’s pressures.
✨ Featuring:
Ayan Ali, RPN, BScPN
Community Mental Health Nurse
Ayan works in community mental health, supporting individuals through intake assessments, care planning, hospital follow-up, and connection to psychiatric and community resources. Her work includes supporting clients experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma, psychosis, substance use, and other mental health challenges.
💬 In this Coffee Therapy discussion, we’ll explore:
* Mental health and illness through an Islamic lens
* Unique mental health challenges of our time, including social media, burnout, and constant pressure
* Managing mood and anxiety using both Islamic principles and practical tools
* Understanding the difference between normal stress and when something needs attention
* Knowing when to seek help—and why seeking support is part of our deen
Coffee Therapy is where we discuss hot-button, red-table issues, trends, and current affairs in a therapeutic fashion.
The coffee just makes us think harder—though this time, it might be chai. 😉
