My dog didn't receive the obedience and authority she needed when I first got her. This was due to my physical health at the the time, but also my unawareness of a house hold member, who was suffering in silence with extreme, long-term depression. With me being unaware, my dog already sensed that someone in our household was struggling with mental illness.
