Doing Your Best Is an Energy Practice
I don’t believe “doing your best” is about perfection or pushing endlessly. For me, it’s about alignment. When I give my full effort—even knowing the result may not be perfect—I feel more grounded, not more tired.
Watercolor tests patience. You can’t overwork it. You have to be present, decisive, and willing to accept imperfection. That combination—focus, effort, and acceptance—feels like a form of meditation. A winter spa, in its own way.
I’ve noticed that when I consistently do my best, life becomes quieter internally. I don’t replay conversations. I don’t question my integrity. I don’t wonder if I could have cared more. That mental spaciousness is worth far more than convenience.
