Just a quick reminder that you can use pranayama when you are off your yoga mat. Use it to create respite, to replenish, to facilitate the ability to step out of unconscious reaction, and into being the person you are when you are at your best. 👁👁🙏😊 HeidiStokes.com🌱🌸Vancouver, BC, Canada

Keep becoming🌱🌸☀️. Successful microbes mutate. They see an evolutionary need, become the seed that spawns a different being. They seize chance opportunities, try new paths, have no fear of changing appearance. These single cells hold the keys to transformation. They equate stagnation with death and see that releasing form is the only way to enter into essence. - Danna Faulds “Go in and in.”

More listening and speaking truth for feminine virtues, skills, biological strength/sacrifice, character, values and creativity. Matriarchy is not a solution, not better but more listening to women’s perspectives provides a chance for equal opportunity. Keep an open mind.❤️🙏 HeidiStokes.com 🌱🌸 Vancouver, BC, Canada

Tuesday 02/22/2022 was a fantastic day for a birthday. As always on my birthday, I did all the things that fill me up. Thanks to everyone for the bday wishes. Much gratitude to Tal and Chris and their kids for really knowing how to make a girl feel loved.

It’s day 1. Can you allow yourself to be open to positivity and absolutely no expectations? Even for few moments will you offer yourself the gift of closing your eyes and opening your sensory body to experience openness, expansion, levity and love? What is your window of tolerance for good feels? Making a practice of expanding that window might be the best gift you ever receive… working on my own. HeidiStokes.com🌱🌸 Vancouver, BC, Canada

True breathing actually happens in your lungs. However, there is plenty of science to support the idea that imagining breath moving through your heart has important physiological benefits. Amplifying the heart’s energetic influence on bodily sensation helps to improve heart rate variability and increases coherence of your physiology. Basically, that means it’s heathy both psychologically and physically. Breathe slowly while you imagine that breath, rather than oxygenated blood, is moving through your heart. Feel the resonance of your heart’s energy. Do it for at least 2 minutes, set a timer. It will feel good. See if you can remember to do it a few times each day. It will effect change. Check out the science at Heart Math. Fancy gadgets helpful for some but not required. I am not affiliated with Heart Math. I just like science. HeidiStokes.com🌱🌸 Vancouver,Bc,Canada

For anyone who is struggling today, reach for the kindness of compassion. Who are you inside of this struggle? Maybe you’re trying to protect yourself, understand someone, keep going, be true, be healthy, get support… What ever the truth is, realizing that about yourself, allowing yourself to be inside of your own truth is very regulating and supportive. Go there rather than getting caught in what others might think. HeidiStokes.com🌸🌱 Vancouver, BC, Canada

Looking for a sense of deep connection? Van Gogh art exhibit at the Vancouver Convention Centre now through August. All the feels, and then some. Totally worth the $50 entrance for one hour.
I knew nothing of Van Gogh really, but there are about 7 screens of background to read under perfect lighting in a silent room full of curious readers. Then, you enter this space where Van Gogh’s images are projected in high definition onto gigantic screens. Perfectly synchronized with music and sound quality that defies you to not get swept up in it. As you can see, plenty of space for social distance, masks mandatory. Fabulous! 215 bodies is horrifically, a piece of the genocide long known here in Canada. Acknowledging this is to acknowledge proliferation of shame.
Encouraging more shame will not heal it. We can not go back, we can not change it.
We can acknowledge the intention of a culture inseparable from the land they inhabit.
Making it right means listening to their opinion about the land. After all, the domination that inspired such atrocities, was inherent in taking power over Canadian land and its resources.
Listen... If we as Canadians want to make amends for history, we need to continue to acknowledge wrongs that imposed shame on a culture.
We need to listen and act in favour of the land we now share. Notice where you see Indigenous Canadians still rising. They are still speaking against the damage of their mother, the land, our earth. They still hold strong voices, culture inseparable from the land they inhabit.
Shame was the bypass used to create genocide. Make no mistake shame is not the way out. If you were not part of the atrocities, adopting the shame of it, will hinder your ability to move forward against it. From shame you must move forward with aggression. You can’t heal shame with more shame. Instead, we can acknowledge a wrong. We can take action to restore their Nobel intention. We can behave as though we are inseparable from the land that we as Canadians inhabit.
