In Loving Memory of Lorna Gail Hamberger (1961-2025)

With heavy hearts, we announce the sudden passing of Lorna Hamberger at the age of 64. Lorna was a vibrant, free-spirited soul who embraced life with unwavering determination and a fiercely independent spirit. Her journey was not an easy one. She faced a difficult past and significant medical challenges with determination, resilience, and a strength that inspired those who knew her. She was known for her keen sense of humor, her laughter, and her ability to remind others not to take life too seriously. She was hardworking, strong-willed, private, brave, and yes, sometimes hot-headed. Lorna lived every moment on her own terms, illuminating our lives with her presence. Her light, though it burned brightly, was all too brief.

In Loving Memory of Donna Damon Jeffrey (1938-2025)

Donna Damon Jeffrey (née Langley) passed away this October 26, 2025 at St. Michael's residence in Burnaby, British Columbia after a long journey with Alzheimer's. She is predeceased by her husband Norman Edward Jeffrey and her younger sister Diane Ramsay. She is survived by her elder brother Wayne Langley and younger sister Miriam Langley and her five children, Barry (Denise), Bonnie (Shaun), Leslie, Deirdre (Dan) and Bradley (Carine). As well as her grandchildren, Brianna, Rebecca, Madeline, Jacob, Benjamin, Thelma and Samuel. Two great grandchildren look forward to joining the ‘descendancy’ courtesy of Brianna (Trent) and Rebecca (Jordan).

Donna was born in Truro Nova Scotia in 1938 to Reverend Abner James Langley (1910-1987) and Thelma Irene Langley (née Damon) (1910-2012). Her parents were devoted to the Atlantic Baptist church and later to the Acadia divinity school. They were life-long advocates for societal causes and helping those in need. Donna would continue in her parent’s footsteps with her own tireless investment in volunteering and attempting to “fight the good fight” including, most notably, for refugee and immigrant rights - an interest sparked by Langley family trips to welcome newcomers at Canada’s famous port of entry (Pier 21 in Halifax). Donna’s pursuit of social justice was born at least as much from her love of people and their diversity as out of a sense of duty.

As a “people person,” Donna loved to gather people around her and tell stories. The stories reflected her own past beginning with “the war years” growing up in Maritime Canada with her sisters and brother. The next chapter was the fun of going to Acadia University, being in a girls’ residence and involved in many extra-curricular activities including drama and debate.

In Loving Memory of Rosemary Wallace Findler (1943-2025)

Born in Prestwick, Scotland, Rosemary’s fondest memories were of her childhood spent with her beloved Gran and Grampa at their small hotel in Whiting Bay on the Isle of Arran. She immigrated to Canada at the age of ten with her parents, Allan and Sarah Wilson, her older brother Allan, and her twin sister, Roslyn. Rosemary, known affectionately as “the good twin,” shared a lifelong bond with her sister, looking out for Roslyn from the moment she arrived into the world twenty minutes later.

She grew up in Richmond and later moved with her family to Ladner. On a double date with her twin, she met the love of her life, Fred, at the Vancouver Alpen Club. Though shy, her gentle spirit captured Fred’s attention, so much so that he memorized her phone number and called her for their first date. They married the following year, when Rosemary was just 19, beginning a lifelong partnership rooted in devotion, teamwork, and unwavering love.
