Congratulations to Denton on reaching his 1 year sobriety milestone!

Denton shared: “I’ve spent the last year working on myself and rebuilding relationships. It has been a lot of work, but I’m thankful for all the support from my friends and family. During my stay at TWC, I was fortunate to make some lifelong friends that have made the journey so much easier.”

Two years ago, Jake made a decision that changed everything. On January 7, 2026, he celebrated 2 years clean and sober — and we’re honoured to share his words as a Together We Can alumnus.

“Today I feel free — healthier physically, but most importantly mentally. Recovery has taught me daily tools I use in every part of my life. It’s shown me how to believe in something greater than myself and, for the first time, truly believe in me. If you’re still suffering, please know there is hope. All you have to do is become willing. Make a decision. Today, I dare you to take that step forward.”

Jake, your courage, connection, and commitment to helping others is what recovery is all about.Your journey reminds us that freedom is possible — one brave decision at a time.

Recovery knows no borders! Today, we celebrate TWC alumnus Louis M. on reaching four years of sobriety! Louis travelled all the way from England to seek a new beginning, and over the past four years, he has built a full, meaningful life he is truly proud of. Even though he is thousands of kilometres and several time zones away from home, he has healed and strengthened his relationship with his family.

Louis shares, "My message is to trust the program, and when you admit you are powerless, the journey becomes clear and simpler to manage".

Jamie recently marked 2 years in recovery — a journey from zero hope to believing he deserves happiness. 💙 A TWC alumnus, Jamie now supports others as a Client Care Worker at Together We Can.

“I came from a place with zero hope or dreams, believing the way I was living was all I deserved. In recovery, I realized I do deserve to be happy — and that if I put in the work, my life can change.”

Jamie, your story shows that change is possible and that hard work can transform a life. Congratulations on 2 years! — your journey is an inspiration to others.

Last week, Amar and Steven from TWC spent the day in Victoria listening to the Budget Speech, followed by a reception hosted by Her Honour, the Lieutenant Governor Wendy Cocchai of British Columbia. As the province navigates its new budget, we are grateful to have had the opportunity to speak with elected leaders across party lines to advocate for the importance of addiction recovery in the healthcare continuum and share the exciting impact we are having on communities and families across the country.

Thank you to Minister Jessie Sunner and Parliamentary Secretary Amna Shah for inviting us down to take part in this historic event and for their dedication to collaboration and shared solutions!
