Witnessing the suffering of people around me with chronic and incurable diseases, as a child I dreamed of becoming a doctor who worked in a laboratory and discovered a cure for my patients. New opportunities opened for me when I immigrated to Canada from Iran as a teenager. I went to Simon Fraser University to do my Bachelor of Applied Science in Kinesiology, and worked as a Kinesiologist and a personal trainer for a year. After I learned about Naturopathic Medicine, and going through my own journey of being diagnosed of Multiple Sclerosis, I realized that treatment methods other than what conventional medicine had to offer were needed. Cures do not merely come out of laboratories; they are latent in the very core of our individual life patterns, habits, thoughts, and environment (there is no one pill to cure, as there is no single cause to each chronic disease). I received my designation of Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from the Boucher Institute of Naturopathic Medicine in B.C. and have further certification in Bowen therapy and IV therapy. As one of the main principles of Naturopathic Medicine, the mind, body, and spirit must harmoniously work together to heal the whole person. This is my primary focus, using individualized treatments according to your specific needs and goals. Most patients arrive with a complex variety of symptoms and conditions, and I am committed to supporting you to listen to your symptoms, take charge of your health, and move towards a state of holistic health and freedom. Some of my areas of focus include chronic disease, pain management, stress and sleep issues, fatigue, mental emotional health, digestive health, and neurological and autoimmune conditions. I look forward to hearing your story, and helping you through your journey to achieve your personal health goals. I am dedicated to making this journey collaborative and enjoyable for you.
