Somewhere along the way you may have been told that there was something wrong with you because of the way you look - You may even have been the one telling yourself that

I need you to know that this is a lie and continues to be a lie.

There is nothing wrong with you.
There is nothing about yourself that needs to change for you to be good enough.

You can change your body to feel better in it, sure -- but please only ever do this for your own benefit and to feel better in your skin, on your terms.

And PLEASE do so with a fundamental knowing that you are awesome and 100% good enough no matter how you look.

So your body changed in the past year - Of course it did!

While you’re going to hear a lot of ‘post pandemic body’ nonsense coming at you hard these days, I suggest we try something new:

It’s radical...

It’s different...

It’s potential life changing...

It’s called Appetite Mastery and you’re going to hear me talk A LOT about it in the coming while.

But before I teach you how to understand and master your appetite and feel super joyful and alive in your body (I’m not kidding - this s**t feels so amazing!), I need you to know that your worth has nothing to do with a number on the scale or the shape of your body.

I need you to know that you are awesome and that obsessing about your body only dims your light and stops you from living the life of your dreams.

I need you to be ready and willing to feel masterful about your appetite and health from a place of fundamental self worth.
..and for you to want to do it FOR YOU because YOU deserve it, not because of what anyone else thinks you should do or look like.

Our bodies are always sending us messages.

They want to be in balance. They want to feel good. And they know we’ll feel good if we let them.

But many of us resist the messages they send and try to ‘willpower’ and muscle our way through everything.

There’s beauty in understanding what these messages are and responding to them with love.

For instance, part of why we eat emotionally is because we are confusing signals. When our emotional health is so-so, our emotional brain wants to feel different, better. This area talks a lot to our feeding brain. And this appetite center gets confused and thinks we’ll feel better if we eat. And ya, ok, food feels better for a while, but that wanting for something else doesn’t go away.

The solution isn’t in restricting. The solution is to go to the root of the problem.

And this can be scary. But part of allowing is also allowing things to feel uncomfortable so growth can occur. Indeed, major shifts are often uncomfortable, but that’s how they transform us.

Appetite mastery is about allowing messages to come up, lovingly exploring what the messages mean, and responding in a way that promotes our overall balance.

Allowing is the first step.

A is for Allowing:

We spend our lives resisting what is, fighting back, trying to muscle past our emotions and feelings.

But our body is constantly communicating with us through these messages. Are we allowing them to enter, or are we blocking them with judgments and opinions?

By allowing our body to communicate with us through thoughts, feelings and emotions, we can start shifting our focus to those messages that serve us and letting go of the messages that limit us.

Meditation, mindfulness, turning inward, grace... these can all help us connect with ourselves and the messages we are receiving.

These messages guide us, they do not define us.
..but we have to lovingly let them guide us.

So, next time you are sent a message re: appetite or anything else, don’t resist. Let it be. And without judgment, but with child-like curiosity, try to figure out the purpose of the message and how to respond to it.

Allowing seems easy, but takes time and effort to sink in. I’m still working on it, myself!

Our Story

Why are we obsessed with weight when it is a mediocre measure of health? Why do we turn outward for validation of our behaviours and self instead of inward? Why do we feel so out of control with respect to our appetite and weight? Why are we so fearful of change, even if we know it will be better for us all around?

Why Weight? is about removing your story and whatever limitations are found in it. It’s about reconnecting with your balanced self. Its about understanding how your body and weight work and focusing on your strengths and the things you enjoy. It’s about feeling in control from the inside out. But most of all, its about balance and peace. It’s about figuring out where separations are occurring so you can shift back into body-mind-soul alignment.

It’s about you, but it’s also about all of us. When one of us breaks the chains of diet culture, we hold space for others to balance themselves and live their freest life.

Let’s do this together.
