Today is International Holocaust Remembrance Day.

The date marks the anniversary of the liberation of Auschwitz-Birkenau in 1945. For many, this heroic feat signaled the end of a genocide that will never be forgotten.

On this day of Holocaust commemoration, we honour the countless victims from marginalized groups, including, but not limited to, the more than six million Jewish lives lost.

We must remember the important lessons learned from the Holocaust while actively combatting antisemitism and bigotry at large. We must continue to address all forms of hate and discrimination to ensure an event of this nature is first recognized, then never repeated.

Residents celebrated "'Round the World" on Wednesday with a feast of delectable Japanese food. The lunch menu included teriyaki glazed sable fish, agedashi tofu with green onions, yaki soba, miso soup, bok choy, and assorted sushi... we're hungry just thinking about it again!
