It could be due to a ‘new year’s resolution’ - or maybe you’re sick of hearing those words and they just don’t resonate.

It could be to due to being in a stuck place - and damn, this could especially true give the information overload we live with today. Which way is even up anymore…

It could be due to curiosity, in what else you can come to know, try, play with.

Whatever the timing or reason, i’ll be ready to meet ya. Even if you’re skeptical (like people were about me growing this money plant from a stick that I chopped, carefully), I’ll hold the hope at first, and start us on a course of growth - whatever growth looks like for you (just like I did for mr. money bags here).

This one is for all my fellow self-critical folks.

We might have gotten pretty far, ‘getting after ourselves’, being the ‘drill sergeant’ - when we’ve made a mistake, or not kept up with something. But, eventually this strategy exhausts us. If you’ve ever found yourself in a start-stop cycle of behaviours you’re trying to change, this is what could be happening: you’re tired and you need a new way to get after life.

That’s where self-compassion comes in. It may be hard for your system to trust when first trying it out - many clients i’ve worked with, and myself of course too, fear that we’d just be ‘making excuses for ourselves and will become even more stagnant’. Maybe it’s a risk worth taking? Fake it till you make it. (and maybe reach out a therapist to help with the bumps along the way)

As you can maybe tell, I’m a complete nerd about this sort of stuff. You can expect more of this, but also a pace and interventions tailored to you, when meeting me in the therapy room.
