Monday reminders about change. Change often happens with a single choice. What’s your choice ?

Today is World Mental Health Day a day to raise awareness, promote well-being, and reduce stigma. Here’s my reflection and parallel about these amazing organisms. They are not plants, but are in fact more closely related to animals than plants.

An incredible fact is that these tree mushrooms grow where the tree was once hurt. In the same way, our thoughts and worries often grow from places of pain. Healing begins when we stop judging and worrying about the roots of that hurt when we give it space and care, it transforms. From that place, something strong and resilient emerges, creating a new system of growth and strength.

Change begins the moment we stop fighting reality and start working with it. When we resist what is, we stay trapped in the same patterns reacting instead of responding. But the moment we learn to observe our thoughts instead of battling them, something shifts.

We begin to see that growth isn’t about forcing life to fit our expectations, but about adapting and learning from what’s already here.

Change doesn’t happen overnight. It’s built through small, consistent acts of awareness noticing a thought, choosing a new response, showing up differently. Over time, these small shifts open new paths and help us move closer to the version of ourselves we’ve always imagined becoming.

Compulsive behaviors can be hard to curb, the urge to act can feel unbearable. But the goal isn’t
to deal with the emotions and feelings right away.

Discomfort isn’t a sign of failure it’s actually a
sign of healing.
One helpful approach is to pause instead of reacting. Let some time pass. Research show that if you wait, urges usually rise and fall on their own within minutes.

By allowing the discomfort to exist without responding, you teach yourself that the urge
doesn’t control you.

Our experience of reality is not just shaped by external events but it is deeply influenced by our beliefs. The mind acts as a filter, interpreting everything we encounter. When you believe in something strongly, your perception aligns with it, and your actions often bring that belief into tangible form.

This doesn’t mean belief can magically change the laws of physics, but it does mean that our internal world influences how we navigate the external one. For example someone who believes they are capable tends to notice opportunities, persist longer, and create outcomes that reinforce that belief. On the other hand, doubt or limiting beliefs can block progress and shrink possibility. In short, reality is not just what happens to us, but also how we perceive and interpret it.
