We’re proud to recognize Arjav Gupta, recipient of the 2023 FORSEE Canada Social Eyecare Scholarship and a medical student at the Northern Ontario School of Medicine.

Arjav recently co-authored a published study examining the barriers to eye care faced by new adult immigrants in Northern Ontario—highlighting challenges related to access, early diagnosis, and preventative care. This important work reinforces why equitable eye care and early screening matter, particularly for underserved communities.

Supporting students like Arjav is exactly why the Social Eyecare Scholarship exists: to empower future physicians to pursue meaningful, community-driven research that creates lasting impact.
