Caregiver Spotlight: Meet Heena 💜

Heena is one of our dedicated caregivers, and a steady, trusted presence for both clients and our team.

She is deeply passionate about caregiving because it allows her to support others in meaningful ways. Heena takes pride in listening, offering reassurance, and making sure every person she supports feels safe, respected, and genuinely cared for.

What motivates Heena most is knowing her care can help someone feel comfortable and at ease. Seeing clients happy and knowing she made a positive difference inspires her to always give her best.

When working with families, Heena hopes they feel confident and reassured, knowing their loved one is in caring and respectful hands.

Heena has also been a great anchor for our team as Opulife continues to expand into the Durham Region. Her reliability, calm approach, and commitment to high-quality care have helped us extend the same standard of support to more families in their homes.

Outside of work, Heena enjoys spending time with her family, relaxing with music, and watching movies to unwind. A fun fact about Heena is that she genuinely enjoys organizing and cleaning, something she finds surprisingly relaxing.

Her personal motto, “Treat others the way you want to be treated,” is something she lives by in both her work and everyday life.

Some of the seniors who resist care the most are the ones who end up loving it the most.

Ben shares a client story that started with hesitation and ended with a moment that reminded us why relationships matter so much in home care 💜

Honoured to be personally invited by Mayor Steven Del Duca to Vaughan City Hall to meet His Excellency Alessandro Cattaneo, Ambassador of Italy to Canada.

It was an honour to be acknowledged for our work in building one of the most culturally competent and considerate care models within our community, and to discuss with Ambassador Cattaneo our vision for cultural care excellence in Ontario and how this work can continue to grow and evolve.

An afternoon of meaningful dialogue celebrating the deep cultural, community, and economic ties between Vaughan and the Italian-Canadian community. Grateful to be part of conversations that connect heritage, leadership, and the future of our city. 💜

What makes us happy?...

Helping individuals age and recover in the place they love most, their home, and giving their loved ones peace of mind knowing Opulife is there 💜

So many adult children tell me the same thing once care is in place...

“I wish we did this sooner.”

Being proactive allows aging parents to stay at home - and gives families the chance to be family again, with the peace of mind you both deserve 💜

We spent time this week with the team at RCC - Reactivation Care Centre Finch Site discussing a challenge we see often: supporting individuals living with dementia to safely transition home - and remain there.

When the right home care support isn’t in place, families are left overwhelmed and hospital stays are prolonged. Our nurse-led dementia care focuses on safety, comfort, and clinical oversight, so aging at home becomes a realistic and sustainable option.

These conversations matter. We’re committed to working alongside care teams like RCC and the families they support to raise the standard of dementia care at home 💜

When one parent becomes the family caregiver, their own health often comes last.

Ben shares a personal experience from his family that reflects what we see every day - aging at home works best when the family caregiver is supported too 💜

This photo marks an important next chapter for Opulife 💜

We’re introducing long-form conversations focused on care at home - whether that means recovering from an injury or accident, navigating a health transition, or supporting a loved one who wants to age at home with dignity and comfort.

Too often, individuals and families are left trying to figure out home care options during moments of stress, after a fall, a hospitalization, or a sudden change in health. These conversations are meant to bring clarity before care feels overwhelming.

This content is for individuals recovering at home, families supporting aging parents, and caregivers who want to understand how care at home can support safety, independence, and peace of mind.

Our goal is simple:
To help people feel informed, prepared, and supported, no matter where they are in their care journey.

If you know a family member or friend caring for someone at home or planning ahead for aging at home, please share this with them and encourage them to follow along. The right information, shared early, can make all the difference!

This is just the beginning, and we’re honoured to support our community at home.

This year, Opulife’s Sandwich Share brought us back to the streets of Toronto—where food, warmth, and human connection matter most. 💜

With the help of our incredible volunteers, we handed out over 280 fresh sandwiches, snack bags, socks, and scarves to our neighbours experiencing homelessness. But beyond the meals and essentials, we shared something just as important: time, care, and the reminder that no one is forgotten.

Thank you to everyone who showed up with open hearts and helping hands. This is what community looks like.

Home isn’t always a place — sometimes it’s the people who care for you, laugh with you, and walk beside you. 🎄

At Opulife, we’re blessed to witness these meaningful connections every day. This season reminds us how powerful companionship, dignity, and kindness truly are.

Today we celebrate the beautiful bond between our caregivers and senior clients — a bond built through trust, shared moments, and the comfort of knowing no one walks alone. As we gather in the warmth of this special day, we’re grateful for every smile, every story, and every heart that makes our Opulife family whole.

Merry Christmas from all of us at Opulife. 💜
