Anamav Postnatal Care

Anamav Postnatal Care Anamav was created to fill the gaps in postpartum care that so many new parents experience. We’re just a DM away 🩵

Through education, care navigation, support and advocacy, we are here to help you smoothly transition into parenthood. Anamav was created to help fill the gaps in postnatal care that so many mothers experience in Canada. We plan to offer some of the most essential services that a new mother needs: an extra set of hands, someone to offer words of comfort or just listen, breastfeeding support for th

ose who choose to breastfeed, and nourishing meals prepared fresh and delivered to your doorstep. Our goal at Anamav is to support the entire family and understand each family's individual needs.

Half of new mothers and birthing parents in Canada are struggling.

That part gets attention (barely).

But what stood out to me even more?

- Most aren’t getting support.
- Many don’t know where to go.
- And some were never even asked how they were doing.

This isn’t just about mental health.

It’s about navigation.

Because when you’re in it - sleep deprived, overwhelmed, adjusting to a completely new life - figuring out what you need and where to go isn’t simple.

And right now, that responsibility sits with the parent.

That’s the gap.

This is exactly why I created Anamav - and why it’s now evolving to better support more parents, perinatal providers, and employers.

There’s a lot of work to be done.

If this resonates with you, I’d love to connect.

Where are you now that I need you? 😅 Trying to call the “village” you were promised… and realizing there’s no directory!

We’re working on something behind the scenes 👀

Think: less guessing, less Googling (or asking Chat/Claude) less “who do I even need?”

More clarity, more right support, less overwhelm.

Black women are 2–3x more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes.

And what most people don’t realize?

Most of these deaths happen after the baby is born.

Because we treat birth like the finish line—
when postpartum is actually one of the most vulnerable and under-supported phases.

Fewer check-ins.
More symptoms dismissed.
Less access to culturally safe, respectful care.

This isn’t about awareness alone.
It’s about acknowledging where the system is failing—and doing better, together.

Every mother deserves to be heard, supported, and safe.

From what I’ve been seeing… thousands of people showed up this weekend. Lineups were hours long. People just trying to get in, get around, and access what they came for.

And honestly—it makes sense.

Parents want access to everything in one place.
Support. Resources. Answers. Reassurance.

But packing it all into one crowded space doesn’t actually solve the problem.

Because when you’re pregnant or newly postpartum…you’re not just looking for more things.

You’re looking for:
✨ clarity
✨ guidance
✨ support
✨ community

You’re looking to feel calmer. More prepared. Less alone.

And I think this weekend showed us something important—

We don’t just need more information.
We need better delivery of support.

Simpler. More intentional. Actually designed for what parents are going through.

More on this soon.

And if you were there or trying to be—I hope you’re getting some rest tonight 🤍

No one warned me that having kids would change my entire body… including my shoe size??

Like??
Why do my FEET need to grow for motherhood??

My rings don’t fit.
My clothes don’t fit.
My shoes don’t fit.
There are baby hairs doing their own thing.
And the grays?? Thriving.

Anyways. Tell me - did you need to get your rings resized?? I’m still hoping they fit one day 🙃

The holidays can make parents feel like they need to perform joy.

More magic. More energy. More patience. More everything.

But children don’t need perfection or more gifts - they need presence.

Even if you’re tired.
Even if the house is loud.
Even if today didn’t go how you imagined.

Your steadiness matters more than the wrapping paper.
Your warmth matters more than the schedule.
Your love is already enough.

If this season feels heavy, you’re not doing it wrong.

You’re human — and that’s what your child needs most 💕
