Our next Living Despite meeting will be Wednesday, April 22nd from 1:00 - 2:30 PM at the Vernon Public Library

We will be having Terrylynn Bailleul from Lighthouse Support Services . She is trained as a personal care assistant (nurses aid, care aid) with several years experience in this field as well as being her husbands care support for the past 10 years.

She will be talking to us about her story as being a Caregiver for her husband Jeremy (who is also her business partner) and how this inspired them to start a Caregiving Support Business helping others.

She will also be talking how we can have capacity for those with chronic health conditions and caregivers, the physical and emotional effects these have on us and habits that both help and hinder in the process

We hope that you can join us for this unique lived experience with the bird's eye view from a caregiver also

Our Counsellor Options and Alternates Event at the Prestige Inn - Vernon across from London Drugs

Drop in from 2-7 where you can talk with counsellors about what they have to offer, finding low or free options if need be

We will be having speakers from Canadian Mental Health Association Vernon & District, Family Resource Centre and NOHS - North Okanagan Hospice Society

We will also be having a therapy dog and Rose Moon Books

This is a FREE event although donations are accepted

We have an exciting NEW event coming to Vernon on Wednesday April 15th from 2:00 - 7:00 PM at the Prestige Inn at 4411-32nd Street (across from London Drugs)

The Counselling Options and Alternatives Events will be filled with counsellors and therapists of all kinds.

We will a variety of Counsellors and Therapists for you to talk to, learn about what they do and how they can help you

There will be information about qualifications and designations which will also be provided to help you choose your counsellor

We will also be having speakers from Canadian Mental Health Association Vernon & District, Family Resource Centre and NOHS - North Okanagan Hospice Society who will share what they have to offer. These talks will be running from 2:30-4:30 and from 5:00 - 7:00 PM

If you have always wondered about how to find the right counsellor, ask questions to a potential counsellor, find out if they are covered by extended benefits, who offers free or low cost sessions and so much more then this is the event for you

We hope to see you at this drop in event which is FREE but a small donation is greatly appreciated

We have a NEW event coming to Vernon...Counselling Options & Alternatives Event hosted by the John Rudy Health Resource Centre and we are looking for Private Practice Counsellors and Therapists to join as Vendors.

This event will be held on Wednesday April 15th from 2-7 at the Prestige Hotel located at 4411-32st Street (across from London Drugs)

These can be Family Counselors, Social Workers, Addiction Counselors, Marriage Counselors, Health Counselors and anyone who counsels someone to better their lives

We are also looking for Therapists of all types whether it be Music Therapy, Sound Therapy, Couples Therapy, Behavior Therapy and so much more
