Last week, I had the opportunity to attend a medical conference in Phoenix, Arizona (Dec 2–6), learning directly from world-leading cardiologists, emergency physicians, and specialists focused on cardiac and respiratory arrest, CPR, and resuscitation management.
Hearing how frontline clinicians approach real-world cardiac arrests — from high-performance CPR and airway management to post-ROSC care, reinforced an important truth: quality CPR saves lives, but how we teach and perform it matters just as much.
These insights don’t just stay in a lecture hall. They shape how I teach, how I emphasize critical skills, and how I help people feel confident stepping in when seconds count.
Grateful for the opportunity to continue learning from some of the best in the world and to bring that knowledge back to the classroom.

Welcome to Orchard Safety Services!

My name is David Orchard, and I am a resident of Peachland, British Columbia. Currently serving as a Paramedic with British Columbia Emergency Health Services and holding the position of Firefighter (Officer) with Peachland Fire and Rescue Service, I have established Orchard Safety Services in response to the escalating demand for First Aid instructors in the Okanagan Valley. My primary goal is to contribute to the welfare of my community by offering top-notch First-Aid/ Emergency response training.

With an instructional background spanning since 2013, I have been involved in teaching nation wide, for reputable organizations such as, The First Aid Guy where we taught for Security and staff at Parliament hill in Ottawa, & Presently with Peachland Fire and Rescue with ,my instructional portfolio encompasses courses tailored for Firefighters, including Emergency Medical Responder/First Medical Responder, and health care providers/ general public, covering First Aid-BLS Health Care Provider, along with comprehensive training in Airway and Oxygen management. Using real life scenarios of obstacles and patients I have come across in the field, I hope to provide a good understanding and pass on the knowledge for you to feel confident if any First Aid emergency occurs!
