This Saturday 9am. Come join Jeff, our wonderful and talented Kinesiologist for a free guided session on mindfulness and movement on Cordova Bay beach.

Mark your calendars - Saturday, July 15th at 9:00am will be the start of a new class: Mindfulness in Movement. This class is a mixture of breathing, balancing, and exercise with heavy focus on connecting with our bodies. This self paced class is open to the community, free of charge, so invite your friends and family to join you this Saturday on the beach!

Gathering at 9:00AM outside the Beach House Restaurant.
Walking to our space and beginning our practice at 9:10.
Class will go for 30 minutes before before a Q&A to finish off the class.

Excited to announce the upcoming Mindfulness and Movement Series being offered by Total Body Health.

Starting July 15th, join our Registered Kinesiologist, Jeff Laing, on the beautiful Cordova Bay Beach at 9AM for a series based on mindfulness and movement. Gathering at 9AM, class begins at 9:10 and goes until 9:50 with a Q&A to finish.

This class will be comprised of breathing, grounding, connecting with yourself and your surrounds, with a series of movements to improve strength, stability, and balance.

This class is open to the community, and free of charge, so feel free to bring your friends and family to take some time to focus on yourself and your well-being.

INTRODUCTION TO KETTLEBELL STRENGTH AND CONDITIONING

Dr. Ptolemy has 17 years experience as a Strength & Conditioning Specialist and 14 years of clinical experience, as a Chiropractor. He developed his Kettlebell programs to help people take the next step in their health and fitness journey - to raise their standards of movement, strength and coordination.

The program is designed to progress movement competency and complexity over 5 weeks while building strength. This is NOT a typical fitness class - it is a program, with progressions in mind. Building movement competency with intelligent programming is the foundation of this program. When you increase your standards, you open up new possibilities, and you will feel more confident exercising on your own. But if you are like most people who finish the Intro to Bells S&C Program, you will be asking when the advanced sessions start.

This program is best suited for those who already have a fitness practice, and are looking to improve how they move primarily, while building strength and improving overall conditioning. If you are currently experiencing pain or have mobility issues, you would be better suited for the Movement Foundations Program

Using the principles of Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization, The Beardog Exercise is a great progression to the bear exercise. If you haven't seen it yet, please check it out for the basic set-up cues. This exercise is effective for learning to hold stability through the core and shoulders. Starting from standing, sitting or quadruped positions, this exercise is accessible to all ability levels and all sports.

In this video, we focus on single-leg lifting only. This is also a more challenging version of the infamous Birddog exercise. This variation challenges your trunk stability, rotator cuff strength as a support function, and a great way to train lower back and pelvic stability.

Aim for 3 sets of 10 leg lifts on each side or hold for 30 seconds each set if you don't want to count reps.

There should not be pain anywhere while in this position aside from feeling your muscles working hard. If you do experience any pain or worsening of symptoms, STOP and consult your chiropractor for an evaluation or modification to your exercise routine.
