Join us on World AIDS days, December 1st, 2025 at the Victoria Legislature steps for a candlelight vigil. We will gather in person and online (via Instagram Live) from 5-6pm. Join us afterward at our 40th Anniversary display for a movie screening of Meet Us Where We’re At in the lower level of the Bay Centre at 7pm. VAC in partnership with Visual AIDS (NY) presents, Day With(Out) Art screening of newly-commissioned films by HIV+ artists, Meet Us Where We’re At, featuring: Kenneth Indongesit Usoro (Nigeria), Hoàng Thái (Vietnam), Gustavo Vinagre & Vinicius Couto (Brazil/Portugal), Camilo Tapia Flores (Chile/Brazil), Camila Flores-Fernández (Peru/Germany), José Luis Cortés (Puerto Rico).

This year, AVI Health and Community Services proudly celebrates 40 years of making a difference — 40 years of compassion, advocacy, and community care across Vancouver Island. From our beginnings as the AIDS Vancouver Island Society to our evolution into a broader health and community services organization, AVI has stood at the forefront of harm reduction, health equity, and social justice.

AVI is hosting its Annual General Meeting on November 25th from 4:00-6:00pm. The organization is launching a Membership Drive to invite new members and renew existing ones, as membership plays a key role in governance and community-voice. We invite YOU to be part of the next chapter of our story.

and (HIM) are looking for a Program Coordinator, Community Engagement to lead peer-based programming for SWers and GBT2Q folks.

This is a peer position — ideal for someone with lived experience in SW, strong community roots, and a passion for harm reduction, sexual health, and reducing stigma. You’ll coordinate HUSTLE at Peers Drop-In and help deliver HIM’s training on SW stigma to healthcare providers.

💼 10 hrs/week | $35/hr + 1 night outreach shift @ $31/hr
📍 Lək̓ʷəŋən Territory (Victoria, BC)
🗓 Apply by July 1, 2025 — or until filled
🫂 Supportive, trauma-informed, peer-centered environment
🧡 Trans and gender diverse folks, Indigenous/Two-Spirit people, people of colour, and people with disabilities are encouraged to apply.
