Yes of course you can, but let’s look at what happens in a workout:

> change in body weight (drinking water and loss through sweat),
> physical change within our muscle size and shape (muscle pump), and
> variance in heart rate and body temperature.

All of the factors above will also largely vary person to person and workout to workout. For example, cardio with weights, arm workout, leg workout, hiit, cardio - steady state, all of these will effect our total weight, lean body mass, skeletal muscle, protein and hydration status slightly differently and will result in changes within segmental analysis.

This is why we always scan pre workout for a reliable repeatable result!

Wonder how the Evolt 360 machine works?

Lean Mass

When we talk about lean body mass, we are referring to the mass or weight of all parts of your body except fat or adipose tissue.

Lean mass includes:

> skeletal muscle mass,
> bone mass,
> protein content,
> mineral content, and
> total body water.

Having an optimal or higher lean body mass means that you have:

> a higher basal metabolic rate (more food)
> more energy stores
> better bone density, and
> more strength.
