I'm thrilled to welcome Raja to the Nested Heart team as our newest practicum student. He's offering sessions in person in Victoria and Vancouver for individuals and couples under the supervision of Cora Bilsker and .berg.counselling

Raja brings an unapologetic authenticity and vast life experience that I think clients will really appreciate. In his own words,

New affordable counselling option! 📣 And our first IN PERSON office in downtown Vancouver!
Geo (he/they) will be completing his MSW practicum with us over the summer and then transitioning into private practice. They bring lots of one-on-one experience and a soft presence to the counselling room, as well as offering EMDR.

In their words, "what I offer is a steady presence - someone who can sit with you through big emotions, uncertainty and complexity, without rushing to fix or explain them away"

Geo offers sessions in Vancouver on Fridays and online throughout the rest of the weekdays (daytimes and evenings).

I'm so pleased to share that Jessamyn will be hosting our first (likely not last) group for men to discuss s*xual shame. This group was born out of the Nested Heart counsellors hearing from their clients that therapy was one of the only spaces they felt comfortable being honest about what they're into. Support from a therapist can only go so far when you don't also have community, so we thought we'd try to connect you in a safer, filtered and facilitated environment.

I dare y'all to be brave and prove us wrong when we doubt we'll get the signups it needs to run. Let's break the shame cycle society forces upon us!

We recently had our annual team retreat and almost the whole crew was able to come together, (Erica was missed). These retreats are just for relaxing, which is challenging for all of us in different ways, but we absolutely got there. The only project we worked on was a 1000 piece puzzle finished just in time on night 2! (Pictured here)

Every year I'm blown away by the mutual care and encouragement that makes our field a lot less lonely and a lot more supportive. So much gratitude for each of their contributions to Nested Heart. 🥹💖
