As we journey towards the light, we must first resolve our fears and heal our inner pain. Knowledge and understanding can often help us to achieve a sense of saftey and autonomy, but this can also be used against us to mislead and control. It is this rigid attachment to our beliefs that often leads to division, judgement, personal conflict and wars. This limits our capacity to be seen, to be healed, to be loved and to achieve a unified sense of belonging. When we rise above our beliefs, right or wrong, we connect with a deep state of Awareness. We learn how to listen to the wise mind within and connect with a consciousness of forgiveness, peace, love and joy. This is when we start to realize that there is a Presence that is always surrounding us, holding and guiding us. By holding on to a particular position, whether that be political, spiritual, scientific or philosophical, you lock yourself into a battle of right and wrong, them versus us and even good versus evil. This is not to say that bad things do not happen or that some people behave really badly or that we should turn a blind eye to corruption and deceit. If there is something you can do to stop or correct these circumstances, then by all means, do it. Just don't lock yourself into a certain mindset where you prevent yourself from being an instrument of peace, love and joy.
