Our Story

Since 1992 we’ve been creating the world’s finest, freshest, organic teas, skin & body products. It all started in Victoria’s Historic Chinatown, with a passion for premium quality ingredients, exceptional customer service, an eco-friendly approach, & a commitment to community – values which continue to be just as important to us today as they were when we started. SILK ROAD is led by our Chief Tea Ambassador & founder, Daniela Cubelic. Hailed as “Canada’s Queen of Tea” (Globe & Mail), & “Canada’s Tea Master” (Vancouver Sun), she is a leading authority on tea & tea culture, & an accomplished Tea Master, who was trained by Chinese & Taiwanese herbalists & tea masters. In addition to creating our exquisite tea blends, she also oversees the development of our popular skin & bodycare products, & studied aromatherapy in France. Daniela’s love for tea & tea culture is steeped in her veins, & while she is trained in tea’s most ancient traditions, she is equally likely to be found forging new frontiers in tea- from cooking with tea, tea & food pairing, & creating tea cocktails, tea popsicles & tea slushies, to incorporating tea into our skin & bodycare products.
