A huge thank you to the incredible Goddesses and to Goddess Run for choosing Victoria Hospice as a charity of choice again this year. We’re honoured to be part of an event that celebrates strength, connection, and community.

This was our 4th year as a charity partner, and we loved meeting participants at our tent and seeing so many of you wearing the friendship bracelets lovingly made by our Hospice Volunteers.

Thanks to your amazing spirit and generosity, more than 1,000 Goddesses came together to support compassionate end‑of‑life care — helping raise over $11,800 for patients and families in our community.

We love celebrating the moments of kindness that uplift our hospice community, and today we’re sending a heartfelt thank‑you to Mt. Newton Floral. Ryan Stubbs and his team have generously begun donating their near‑perfect blooms each week—stems that might not make it into florist arrangements, but bring beautiful colour and comfort to our hospice unit. 🪻 🏵️

Thank you so much for the generous donation—the big buckets of fresh flowers brought a lovely burst of colour onto the unit, and the blooms added a noticeable sense of warmth to the space. 🌸

We’re deeply grateful for this thoughtful partnership, and for Mt. Newton Floral’s commitment to supporting both day‑to‑day comfort on the unit and future hospice events. Community generosity like this helps us create moments of beauty during some of life’s most tender times. 🩷

Victoria Hospice is looking for a compassionate Child & Youth Counsellor to support children, youth, and families through grief and bereavement. In this role, you’ll provide counselling, help families navigate grief‑related challenges, and contribute to the development of meaningful bereavement services within our interdisciplinary team.

You’ll also play a part in community education, program evaluation, and ongoing improvement of child, youth, and family grief supports—work that helps create safe, supportive spaces during difficult times. 💙

Our Palliative Response Team provides an average of 1,572 home visits every year, ensuring that patients can receive compassionate, specialized care in the comfort of their own homes.

Each visit brings connection, expert symptom management, emotional support, and a sense of peace to patients and families navigating life limiting illness. These moments of care help people stay where they feel safest and most supported, surrounded by the spaces and people they love.

The Corporate Services Lead plays a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of corporate functions by supporting administrative, operational, and project-related tasks. This role also assists in the areas of vendor management, internal software services, facilities planning, and emergency preparedness.

The Manager of Community Programs provides leadership and management of Community-based programs, leading the Psychosocial team, community staff and volunteers, and intake services. The Manager works with the Clinical Director, IPU/PRT, Clinical Practice Educator and Psychosocial Lead to ensure quality of clinical practice and competency of clinical and volunteer team.

Thank you to the more than 50 Victoria Hospice volunteers who joined us for an afternoon of community spirit, great food and heartfelt appreciation in the stunning Sequoia Room at McCall Gardens on Sunday! Our treasured volunteers contribute year-round on the Inpatient Unit, at our fundraising events, in our admin offices and assisting with group grief and bereavement workshops at our Community Support Centre. Everyone has their own "why" they volunteer at Hospice, and it was wonderful to hear so many volunteers share their stories and celebrate each other along with Victoria Hospice staff.

And a huge shout out to McCall Gardens Funeral and Cremation Service for donating their time, gorgeous spaces and care on such a beautiful spring day. There were hugs, compassion and even a few tears of gratitude.
