Hike for Hospice on May 3 is a beautiful way to celebrate someone you’re missing.

Whether you walk for a loved one, a friend, or someone who shaped your life, this day is filled with connection, remembrance, and community 🌻

"When my friend Brodie was admitted to Hospice, we knew he was going to be cared for by the best. The love and respect I have for Hospice is not just what they do for those dying, it is what they do for those staying behind. They support family and friends, they let them know its okay. They are there for them too."
- Brian Mitchell, Hike for Hospice Team WMC

Ready to join the walk? You can register and start your fundraising page today by using the link below. We’d love to see you there 💙 👟

We’re happy to share another beautiful flower delivery from Mt Newton Floral!
Their weekly generosity brings so much colour and warmth to our hospice unit, and we’re always grateful for the brightness these blooms add to the space. 🏵️

A special thank‑you to volunteer Jean, who thoughtfully assembles the arrangements each week. Pictured here are volunteer Andrew and RN Beth, helping bring today’s flowers onto the unit.

Thank you to Mt. Newton Floral for continuing to support our hospice community with such kindness. 🩷 🪻

🎵 March is Music Therapy Awareness Month!

At Victoria Hospice, we’re proud to celebrate the healing power of music and the impact it has on patients, families, and our care teams. This month is all about honouring the ways music therapy supports comfort, connection, and emotional well‑being in hospice care. 💛🎶

We’re excited to share that Victoria Hospice is featured in a recent Oak Bay News story highlighting the meaningful work of music therapy on our unit. You can read the full piece at Hospice in the News: https://buff.ly/lTSmceW

A huge thank you to the incredible Goddesses and to Goddess Run for choosing Victoria Hospice as a charity of choice again this year. We’re honoured to be part of an event that celebrates strength, connection, and community.

This was our 4th year as a charity partner, and we loved meeting participants at our tent and seeing so many of you wearing the friendship bracelets lovingly made by our Hospice Volunteers.

Thanks to your amazing spirit and generosity, more than 1,000 Goddesses came together to support compassionate end‑of‑life care — helping raise over $11,800 for patients and families in our community.

Thank you, Goddesses, for lifting us up.

Our Story

Victoria Hospice is a registered charity that has provided end-of-life care focused on palliative treatment since 1980. Our nurses, counsellors, spiritual caregivers, physicians, and trained volunteers provide comfort for the patient and support for the family, rather than a cure for progressive and life-limiting illness.

Care is offered in patients’ homes, within our 17-bed in-patient unit, and as specific medical consultation to patients in other health care facilities. Over 300 trained volunteers provide companionship and support. Victoria Hospice offers bereavement support to families for up to one year following a death.

Roughly 50 percent of Victoria Hospice's annual operating costs are funded through community donations. Funds are raised from a variety of sources, including private donations, foundation grants, corporate sponsorships, and fundraising events.
