International Women's Day is celebrated globally on March 8th every year in honor of their remarkable contribution to our society.

It is a focal point in the movement for women's rights. After the Socialist Party of America organized a Women's Day on February 28, 1909, in New York, the 1910 International Socialist Woman's Conference suggested a Women's Day be held annually.

The International Women's Day date was moved to March 8 in 1913. The day aimed to help nations worldwide eliminate discrimination against women. It also focused on helping women gain full and equal participation in global development.

It's a day when we celebrate the amazing social, cultural, economic and political achievements of women - while also campaigning for greater progress towards gender equality.

The day also commemorates the inspiring roles of women around the world to secure women's rights and build more equitable societies.

Happy International Women's Day, 2019!
