Are you getting enough sleep? We had a patient at the clinic recently who had swelling in her retina because of lack of sleep! This macular problem is usually caused by stress, and it turns out her body was stressed out from lack of sleep. Once she focused on getting more sleep, her eye problem went away. Don't underestimate the power of sleep!
Here are 12 tips for healthy sleep:
NUMBER ONE: stick to a sleep schedule.
Exercise is great, but not too late in the day.
Avoid caffeine and ni****ne.
Avoid alcoholic drinks before bed.
Avoid large meals and beverages late at night.
If possible, avoid medicines that delay or disrupt your sleep
Don’t take naps after 3 p.m.
Relax before bed.
Take a hot bath before bed.
Have a good sleeping environment.
Have the right sunlight exposure.
Don’t lie in bed awake.
See a health professional if you continue to have trouble sleeping.
