Saturdays 10:00-11:00am at James Bay United Church, Victoria. Daily classes include a variety of Hatha and Flow styles for all levels, Restorative, Yin, Meditation and Yoga Nidra in a safe and nurturing environment. We are also the only official yogahour® studio in Canada. Yogahour is a difficult but doable, alignment-based, expertly-taught 60-minute hatha flow class designed to make you as strong

as you are flexible, as flexible as you are strong. It is affordable (only $10 drop-in) and accessible even to fit beginners who are injury-free. These classes are taught in a warm, not hot, classroom environment which promotes gentle release of muscle and fascia without compromising safety. High open ceilings, natural light, a peaceful atmosphere in the centre of downtown, highly-trained, knowledgeable, compassionate teachers and staff contribute to a nourishing experience for the body, breath, mind, and spirit.

This kind of controlled rotation strengthens the obliques, builds core stability, and teaches your body how to move with control instead of momentum.

Go slow, keep your shoulders grounded, and don't worry about going all the way down. The magic is in the control.

Tight hips? This one goes straight to the spot.

The figure 4 stretch targets the piriformis — a small muscle deep in your glutes that can create a lot of tension when it gets tight. If you sit a lot, walk a lot (hello postal routes), or feel that dull ache in your hips or low back, this one can be a game changer.

It can also help relieve sciatic-type discomfort, improve hip mobility, and take pressure off your lower back.

Hold for 1–2 minutes each side and breathe slowly. The longer you stay, the more your body will let go.

Not a quick fix — but a very effective one.

Your forearms work all day — typing, gripping, scrolling — but almost nobody stretches them.

This one opens the wrists and forearms and can make poses like plank, down dog, and wheel feel a lot better.

Go slowly and back off if it’s too intense.
