Since 1932, families of Southern Vancouver Island have come to know Hatley Memorial Gardens for its beautiful woodland setting, nestled between the Royal Roads University and Galloping Goose Trail. Our 53 acres are home to majestic trees aging 150 years and older. The natural beauty of the landscape creates a peaceful and relaxing atmosphere for friends and families to gather and reminisce. Hatley Memorial Gardens is a proud and respected member of the Victoria community. Some loves stay with us far beyond the moments we shared. They become part of our story, our strength, and the quiet comfort that follows us through every season of life.

Even when they're no longer here, the love they gave continues to guide, soothe, and remind us that love that has been felt this deeply can never truly end.

The hardest conversations are the ones we avoid. And yet those are the ones that matter the most.

60% of people haven’t shared their memorial preferences or final wishes with anyone.

Speaking with your loved ones now can:
🌿 Reduce stress
🌿 Prevent uncertainty
🌿 Bring peace and clarity after you're gone.

It may feel uncomfortable, but the certainty and protection are worth it.

Grief can feel especially heavy in the quiet moments, when absence is most deeply felt.

But with each new day, a gentle sense of hope begins to return, offering light in the spaces where sorrow once settled.

May those experiencing loss find comfort in knowing that love continues to endure, long after goodbye.

Sending strength and compassion to all who are grieving.

Our Story

Hatley Memorial Gardens (cemetery) provides 53 acres of tranquil woodland, nestled between Royal Roads University and Galloping Goose Trail. Our natural setting is home to local wildlife and stately, 150-year-old trees. This provides a beautiful atmosphere for one’s final place of rest. Our options include both traditional burial and cremation gardens, as well as dedication products. We are a full-service location with both a funeral home and crematorium on-site.

Our memorial products for any resting place are always personalized. Whether you prefer the simplicity of a dedicated tree or a precisely engraved monument, we work with you one-on-one to ensure the choice reflects a life well-lived.

Hatley is part of the Arbor Memorial family, a Canadian company with a long-standing tradition of exceptional service. Our caring and compassionate staff are active in the community and raise money for local charities every year.
