Did you know we’re heading into our 36th year of offering the Vancouver Island fitness community quality fitness education! We began in 1989 as “Fit into the 90’s” and in 2000 evolved to become the Island Fitness Conference. What started 36 years ago as a small group of volunteers has grown into a committee of programmers, instructors and fitness enthusiasts representing Southern Vancouver Island.

Sam is a Doctor of Physical Therapy, strength and conditioning coach, and cofounded Thrive Kelowna. Sam will be presenting The Resilient Revolution: Building Bodies That Last where he'll explore the need for a shift in how we think about fitness, rehab and health.

The Island Fitness Conference began in 1989 as “Fit into the 90’s”. The purpose of the Conference was to ensure that Vancouver Island fitness leaders and exercise professionals had access to quality, world class educational training on Vancouver Island. In 2000, “Fit into the 90’s” became “The Island Fitness Conference”. What started 30 years ago as a small group of volunteers has grown into a committee of programmers, instructors and fitness enthusiasts from all over Southern Vancouver Island.
