Berwick Comox Valley residents recently had the opportunity to attend a month-long workshop. Carol Lazar – resident of Berwick Comox Valley – was not only surprised but also pleased that Berwick community interest was so strong. By the time she reached the fourth and final week of the course, Carole had talked about Family Law, encompassing Marriage, Divorce, Custody, and Guardianship, Property Division, Support Obligations, and the increased encouragement and use of mediation.

Berwick House residents learn about ‘Ikigai,’ with speaker Eri, from Japan. In its English translation, ‘Ikigai’ is Japanese for “a reason for being,” ‘Iki’ meaning ‘alive’ and ‘gai’ meaning ‘worth.’ Residents experienced connection, cognitive stimulation, cultural meaning, and a sense of ‘Ikigai’ through finding small joys and meaning in everyday life. A big shout out to the terrific Berwick Balladeers at Berwick by the Sea for their recent "sold-out" performance!

Their choir brought residents and guests together for an afternoon filled with beautiful music and joy. From familiar tunes to heartfelt harmonies, it was a wonderful reminder of how music has the power to connect and uplift us all.

🍀 Happy St. Patrick’s Day! 🍀

Each year on March 17, Ireland honours its patron saint, St. Patrick, marking the anniversary of his death in the 5th century. While today it’s widely celebrated as a festive holiday, St. Patrick’s Day originally began as a religious feast day observed by Christians in Ireland as early as the 9th and 10th centuries.

By the 17th century, Irish settlers in the United States helped shape many of the traditions we know today including lively parades and the famous feast of corned beef and cabbage. Over time, the celebration has grown into a worldwide tribute to Irish culture, filled with music, food, laughter, and of course, plenty of green!

At Berwick, we’re proud to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day with lively happy hours, great food, music and good company.

Epic day of snowshoeing at Mount Washington! ✅

Residents and team members hit the trails together for a day filled with fresh mountain air, beautiful snowy views, and lots of laughter along the way. Getting outside, staying active, and enjoying nature together is such a great way to support both our bodies and our spirits—and this adventure definitely delivered!

✈️ What an incredible day exploring the skies!

Berwick Royal Oak recently enjoyed an awesome visit to the British Columbia Aviation Museum, where history truly came to life. From beautifully restored aircraft to fascinating stories about aviation in our province, there was so much to see and learn.

A special shout out to the amazing volunteer tour guides who made the experience so memorable. Their passion, knowledge, and warm welcome made every moment engaging and fun. Everyone loved hearing the stories behind the planes and learning about the people who helped shape aviation history.

Thank you for such a wonderful visit — we’re already looking forward to the next adventure.
