It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas at Berwick!🎄

We’re officially in the holiday spirit, and it’s been a full-on TEAM effort! 🎅 Residents and team members have been decking the halls, hanging lights, and spreading joy all around! From DIY decorations to a flurry of glitter, our spaces are looking extra festive—and it’s ALL thanks to this awesome crew of holiday helpers.

A HUGE shoutout to the amazing Tito Messer from Berwick by the Sea! 🌊 Tito has been sharing her love for hula dance with our community by leading bi-weekly hula fitness classes, and we couldn't be more grateful! 🌴

Tito told us how she first got started with Hula dancing - “I was just a child watching my sisters dance and I started on my own. Then, going to Hawaii and back and getting connected to my family roots – my grandparents were Hawaiian.”

Hula isn’t just fun—it's fantastic for balance, mobility, and coordination. Plus, it’s a great way to boost your mood while enjoying the soothing sounds of Hawaiian music. Tito’s passion and energy are contagious, and we’re all feeling the positive vibes she brings to every class!

Last week the Berwick on the Park Men’s Group had an unforgettable opportunity to go behind the scenes at the Sandman Centre, home of the Kamloops Blazers. 🏒

From walking through the players’ tunnel to exploring the locker room and training areas, the guys got a rare glimpse of what life looks like beyond the ice.

You can often find this group—along with many other hockey fans—cheering on the Blazers from the comfort of Berwick on the Park’s Bears Den Pub, where all the games are streamed live.

A huge thank-you to the Blazers staff for the warm welcome and fantastic tour.

Recently, a group of residents from Berwick by the Sea rolled up their sleeves and created their very own personalized power bowls!

During a hands-on cooking class with Executive Chef Stephanie Martinolich, participants explored a variety of hearty grains, vibrant root vegetable toppings, and even whisked up their own delicious homemade dressings.

It was a day filled with flavor, creativity, and fun — and the results were as beautiful as they were tasty! Check out the recipe below for the perfect fall dressing! 🥕🍂

Carrot Ginger Dressing

Ingredients:
65 mL Carrot Juice
12 mL Freshly Grated Ginger
10 mL Miso
25 mL Apple Cider Vinegar
15 mL Honey
Salt & Pepper to taste

Instructions:
Add all ingredients to a small mixing bowl or blender.
Whisk or blend until smooth and well combined.
Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.
Drizzle over grain bowls, salads, or roasted veggies for a bright, cozy fall flavor!

35 years ago, Keith took a classic game, changed up the rules, and added his own creative twist — giving it a brand-new name and life.

Fast forward to today, and he’s brought his creation to Berwick, where he’s not only teaching others how to play but also building a welcoming community around it.

Each week, players come together to connect, compete, and share in the fun — and for Keith, that sense of community is the greatest win of all. 🏆

From trick-or-treating and pub parties to murder mystery lunches and costume contests, this Halloween was nothing short of magical! ✨

Our communities showed off their creativity, humor, and community spirit with some truly spellbinding costumes and plenty of laughter. It was a wicked celebration that captured the fun and vibrant lifestyle we enjoy every day at Berwick.

🍎🧀 A Perfect Fall Adventure! 🍂

This adventurous group of ladies from Berwick on the Park, Kamloops enjoyed a beautiful day trip to Armstrong, BC, where they sampled delicious local cheese and visited a charming cidery. The weather was perfect — crisp air, golden sunshine, and trees dressed in stunning shades of green, red, and gold.

We’re so lucky to be located in a region surrounded by natural beauty and local flavours! The Okanagan and the North and South Thompson Valleys offer an abundance of incredible wineries, cideries, and experiences just waiting to waiting to be explored.

It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of Gordon Denford (1927–2025), the founder and visionary behind Berwick Retirement Communities.

Gordon was a true pioneer in the senior living industry, a prolific builder of communities and a leader who reimagined what retirement living could be. Guided by integrity and compassion, he always chose to do the right thing, even when it wasn’t the easy thing to do. His belief that seniors deserve vibrant, connected, and dignified places to live shaped not only Berwick, but the standard for retirement communities across British Columbia.

Beyond his accomplishments, Gordon will be remembered for how he made people feel. His warmth, generosity, and unwavering commitment to excellence continue to inspire everyone who knew him.

As we honour his life and legacy, we remain dedicated to carrying forward his vision & values with the same heart and purpose that guided him.
