These teachings are designed to bring connection to mind, body, spirit, and the sacred world around us. The Sitka and Stillness Collective was created by yoga teacher and photographer Anne-Marie Harris. These practices are designed to cultivate stability and stillness within so that you can better navigate the experiences of life with a greater sense of ease and peace. These teachings are designed to help bring awareness to mind, body and spirit through our connection to self, others, and the sacred natural world around us. I will guide you through practices of Meditation, Pranayama (breathing techniques), Mantra (chanting), and Asana (postures/earth connection) to create and/or deepen your practice and connection to self, others and the world around us. Spring is not just happening around us; it is happening within us.

As we approach the New Moon and Earth Day, Sitka and Stillness invites our Nanaimo community to a deep-earth ritual.

This is a session of Rooting and Renewal.

Dedicated to the consciousness of Bhumi Devi—the thriving, fertile force of the Earth—this immersion is about shedding the winter layers and allowing your unique light to emerge. 🌱✨

Through somatic practices, grounding breath, Mantra chanting, and the resonant architecture of Gongs and Crystal Alchemy bowls, we will journey into the 'Roots.'

We’ll spend 90 minutes down-regulating the nervous system to make space for the 'Renewal' that only happens in the quiet.

We are creating a threshold space for the new growth to find you.

This is an intimate, warm, and balanced container.

💗My heart is overflowing today!

Last night, the Sitka and Stillness Collective came alive in a way I can’t quite put into words. To every soul who stepped into that room: Thank you. You didn't just attend a session; you created the resonance.

There is a specific kind of magic that happens when we stop "doing" and start "being" together—and last night, that magic was palpable.

A huge thank you to Basha at for holding such a beautiful space and for being part of this tapestry.

And to my partner whose angelic voice and devotion remind us all of the grace that sound can carry.

Stepping back onto this path of sharing Bhakti and sound has been a journey of deep vulnerability for me. After years of navigating vocal cord damage and profound silence, I am learning that the 'marrow' of devotion doesn't require a 'perfect' instrument.

Whether a voice is a clear, angelic stream or a weathered, rocky river, the Prana and devotion behind the sound is what truly resonates.

Last night reminded me that our cracks are simply where the resonance runs deepest.

The journey has only just begun.

We are so excited to keep this momentum flowing into our upcoming chapters:

In our ceremonies, we utilize a "Power of Two" approach—to create a more profound, uninterrupted flow of resonance.

By facilitating in tandem, we ensure the sonic container never breaks.

While one of us anchors the deep, primal resonance of the gongs, the other weaves a tapestry of accent gong sounds to create an expansive experience and ensure the transition is seamless—allowing you to stay in a state of deep Pratyahara (withdrawal of the senses) for the full 90 minutes.

This experience is more than a sound bath— it is a meticulously choreographed somatic ceremony.

In the Ayurvedic tradition, this is Kapha Season—a time of stability, but also a time where we can feel "heavy" or stagnant as we transition out of winter.

This 90-minute immersion is designed to meet this seasonal energy with intention.

There is a unique magic that happens in a dual-facilitator space.

Unlike a solo session, our partnership allows for a "constant held space." Mastering the art of sound and stillness.

The power of dual practitioners weaves a rich sonic tapestry, punctuated by purposeful silence for deep somatic experience.

Synchronized Resonance: The beauty of two practitioners is the ability to weave a complex, multi-dimensional tapestry of sound—harmonizing our instruments in real-time to create a truly immersive environment.

Purposeful Silence: We believe the "echo" in the body is just as important as the sound in the room.

We utilize specific moments of deep silence to facilitate Pratyahara—a profound withdrawal of the senses where true integration happens.

The Power of Sacred Sound: Led by Anne-Marie and Tifannie, this collaboration with One Tribe Yoga is a dedicated sanctuary for those ready to wash away the winter density and return to their internal compass.

Transformation happens in the quiet. 🌿

We’ve spent the last few months quietly building something that feels like home.

Today, Sitka & Stillness is officially out in the world.

From leading pranayama and mantra to weaving intuitive melodies on alchemy bowls and the primal depth of the gongs, this collaboration with Tifannie is the most aligned work I’ve ever done.

Our website is live, the first dates are set, and we are ready to hold space for you.

❄️ The darkness is where we become whole. A Solstice permission slip to rest.

These darker days invite you to rest well; to remember and reclaim the gold and the nourishment held within.

Winter teaches us that nothing can be "outward" all the time. Nothing can be forever Spring—constantly growing, young, and blooming. All natural beings need rest to sustain themselves.

We need this time to descend into our own dark richness—into the places we may fear—so we can turn them into medicine through love and kindness toward ourselves.

This is a season where deep nourishment is called for: wholesome foods for the body and tender love for the heart.

Remember that through the darkness comes the light. This quiet is not only necessary; it is vital.

Just as a baby becomes whole in the darkness of the womb, and a seed needs the black, quiet earth to ignite the life held within, this time of darkness mirrors the beginning of all things.

It is an invitation to begin again. To allow "mini-deaths" in the dark so you can be rebirthed into the light of Spring—more alive and resilient than before.

So, light the fires and the candles in your hearth. Honor the gifts that your heart and the hearts of others bring.

Create a nest where you can rest, a place to love yourself and journey inward.

Write and dream. Eat well and sleep well.
Winter is showing you that you are currently the embryo in the womb, the seed in the soil.

This is the moment nature asks:

• What do you need to heal?
• What do you need to feel safe enough to be your deepest and most authentic self?
• What needs attending to so you can feel peace in your body?

Give yourself what you need now, so you can grow well in the light that is to come. 🕯

🪷 I recently completed 100 hours of Sound Training with

Choosing to enroll in the sound healing training with Ma Wellness was one of the best decisions I've made to expand my knowledge and skills on my teaching journey.

From the very start, it was clear that the teachers possess an incredible wealth of knowledge and a genuine passion for their work. They didn't just teach us how to play instruments; they instilled in us the profound importance of using sound with intention, integrity, and respect.

The course curriculum is comprehensive and thoughtfully designed. I was fascinated by the deep dive into the history of sound and its cultural significance.

The training provided critical information on the proper use of various instruments and tools, ensuring that we understood not only the 'what,' but also the 'why' behind each technique.

The segments with on Sanskrit language and pronunciation were especially enlightening, adding a layer of authenticity and reverence to my practice and offerings.

What truly sets this training apart is how they seamlessly blend the ancient wisdom with modern science, explaining the real-world, physiological effects of sound on the body and mind.

This is more than just a training; it's a foundation for creating truly meaningful and effective sound journeys and meditations.

This sound healing training was truly transformative. It went far beyond what I expected, not only deepening my personal practice but also providing me with the comprehensive knowledge and tools needed to enrich my teachings and offerings to guide others with authenticity and confidence.

I look forward to sharing and serving our community with the addition of these new offerings. 🙏✨️
