On July 16th & 17th, our team will be riding nearly 200km to raise funds for hospice care on Vancouver Island.

It’s a cause we truly believe in. Vancouver Island hospices provide end-of-life palliative care, counseling, bereavement support, and at-home care to over 12,000 patients and family members each year. Despite the value of their services, none are fully funded by the health care system. The care and comfort they provide is only possible because of generous community support.

Our team has promised to raise at least $5,000 to help keep Vancouver Island hospice care in motion, but we need your support. Donate to a member of our team by clicking on their name or make a general team donation by clicking on the donate now button.

Every donation, no matter what the size, will make a big difference and you will receive a tax-receipt.

Thank you for your support!

Register for our event today and get involved with your community.

Home for the Holidays: What that means for refugees from Afghanistan

Rona is from Afghanistan. She is a newcomer to Canada. She openly shares her story about her experience.

Some call this holiday season “the happiest time of the year.” But what’s it like to be separated from loved ones who are still back in your country - one that is filled with turmoil? What can we do to bring happiness to those who have arrived as newcomers and are now trying desperately to adapt to a new life in Canadian culture?

Don’t miss this eye-opening but heart-warming podcast.

Our Story

First Memorial Funeral Services® Victoria, located at 1155 Fort Street in Victoria on Vancouver Island, British Columbia, opened in 1989 as a complement to the existing location in Saanich. This allows for greater travel convenience and more choice for our client families.

Formerly known as Cunningham Funeral Chapel and, before that, Chaplins Funeral Services, the building was renovated to facilitate the needs of our area families. First Memorial Funeral Services Victoria is situated just 5 blocks from the center of downtown Victoria, with its beautiful shops and restaurants, famous buildings, busy harbour and world-famous flowers.
