Fishing Lake First Nation members are invited to attend the final Land Code Consultation Meeting on April 18, 2026 at Percy Severight Memorial Hall.

Lunch will be served at 12:00 PM and the consultation will take place from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM. There will also be door prizes for attendees (must be present to win).

Several informational sessions were held last year, and information has also been posted on the Fishing Lake First Nation website. This final meeting is intended as a refresher before the vote and as an opportunity for members to ask any remaining questions.

This vote is important because it gives eligible members a voice in an important decision regarding the future governance of our lands. A Land Code is important because it sets out the main rules for how lands are managed.

Please note that the Land Code and Individual Agreement are not the same as a future Land Use Plan. The Land Code sets out the main rules for how lands are managed, while a future Land Use Plan would be developed separately and would provide more detailed direction on how land may be used and planned in the future.

There are many resources available on the Fishing Lake First Nation webpage for members to review before the meeting and before voting, including the Land Code, Individual Agreement, Notice of Vote, digital voting guide, meeting materials, and other helpful information.

View resources here: https://www.fishinglakefirstnation.com/about-1

Eligible voters are Fishing Lake First Nation members who are 18 years of age or older.

Voting options include:
Online voting: May 1, 2026 at 10:00 AM CST to May 15, 2026 at 7:00 PM CST
Advance poll in Regina: May 11, 2026
Advance poll in Saskatoon: May 13, 2026
Official Voting Day at Fishing Lake First Nation: May 15, 2026

Any questions or concerns regarding the Land Code, Individual Agreement, or voting information should be directed to the Lands Manager and Land Code Coordinator.

For members who are unable to attend in person, we will be posting an option tomorrow to view the meeting live.

Please review the available resources, attend if you can, and take part in this important decision for our Nation.
