Amblyopia, often called “lazy eye,” is when one eye doesn’t develop proper vision because the brain ignores the signal coming from it.

But here’s the thing: no complaints doesn’t mean clear sight, just quiet struggles.

Children with amblyopia rarely notice anything is wrong because their stronger eye does all the work. But left untreated, the weaker eye can fall even further behind, and the vision loss can become permanent.

That’s why early eye exams matter, even if everything seems fine.
