Thanks, Stewart's Pharmacy, for sharing this interesting part of history - the opening of the first X-Ray at the Walkerton Hospital in 1986. X-Ray was then, and still is, a vital service offered to residents of our communities. Today, we are working toward our $1.4 million fundraising goal to replace the current aging X-Ray suite.

An X-Ray is an extremely important tool of any modern healthcare center. It is part of the Bare-bones essential equipment needed. Sorry for the pun... The Walkerton & District Hospital Foundation is fundraising for a brand new one that will greatly help out the general population. Today one of our patients brought in this photo of the official opening of the first X-Ray at the hospital in November 1986 with Murray Elston (Minister of Health), Dr. Lorne Mullen, Bill Baillie (Board of Governors Chair) and Vern Inglis (Fundraising Committee Chair).

Our 'Buy-A-Bone' initiative has been so generously supported thanks to all of our donors. We thank each and every one of you! Through your support, 159 bones have been purchased/pledged to date. That's 72% of the bones! 🩻

Have you recently had a baby in the Dr. RJ Creighton Family Birthing Centre? If so, this program may be for you!

The WDHF has created the 'Star is Born' program to recognize babies recently born in the centre. Stars are available for purchase for $100 each (with a $50 tax receipt) and will proudly display your baby's name and date of birth. Stars are displayed for a one-year term and then returned to you as a keepsake.

Our next star order is being placed in mid-March! Stars can be purchased at the Foundation Office or online here https://www.walkertonhospitalfoundation.com/starisborn

Funds raised through the program directly support the WDHF and equipment purchases and upgrades for the Dr. RJ Creighton Family Birthing Centre.

THANK YOU Walker's Landing for hosting the burger fundraiser in support of our X-Ray Suite Replacement Campaign and THANK YOU to everyone who came out and supported the initiative! $1,471 was raised through 476 burgers sold & donations received. We are so grateful to have such a supportive community! 🍔
