Client Journey: Why Dissolving First Was the Best Choice 💉
This client came in for her first appointment wanting lip filler.
On assessment, there was a clump of old filler sitting in one area of her upper lip that had migrated over time.
Instead of adding more filler to try to “even it out,” I recommended dissolving first.
Sometimes, adding filler on top of existing irregular filler can make things worse, not better. In cases like this, the safest and most aesthetic option is to start fresh, even though it’s not always what clients want to hear.
👉 This is where trusting your injector’s judgment is so important. Our goal is never just more filler, it’s the best possible long-term result for your face.
After dissolving, the client returned once everything was fully healed:
• No more bump
• Smooth, even lip tissue
• A clean foundation to work with
From there, we were able to refill properly, creating lips that are even, soft, plump, and balanced.
