This position uses gravity to help support lymphatic flow and circulation, which can reduce swelling and that heavy, achy feeling in the ankles and lower legs.

It’s an easy way to give your body a reset after a long day on your feet.

If there’s one thing my late 30s have taught me, it’s that health doesn’t have to be complicated. In my 20s, I thought “wellness” meant strict diets, intense workouts, or chasing the newest trend. Now I realize it’s the simple, consistent habits that truly make the difference.

💧 Drinking water before I reach for tea.
🥗 Choosing whole, nourishing foods instead of convenience snacks.
😴 Protecting my sleep like it’s an appointment I can’t cancel.
🚶‍♀️ Moving my body daily, even if it’s just a walk.
🧘‍♀️ Creating space to rest and manage stress.

These are the back to basics foundations I wish I would have started sooner. Because true wellness isn’t about doing more—it’s about doing what matters most. And it’s never too late to begin. 🌱💛

We’ve had health wrong.
And it’s costing us more than we realize.

We were taught to look for quick fixes—
a pill, a cleanse, a supplement, a 7-day reset.
But health was never meant to be rushed.

Somewhere along the way, we stopped listening to our bodies.
We ignored fatigue.
Normalized bloating.
Pushed through stress.
Ate “food” that doesn’t resemble food.

Your body has been speaking the whole time—
we just learned to override it instead of support it.

5 things I refuse to do at home as a wellness RN 👇

🚫 Use toxic personal care & cleaning products
Because putting hormone-disrupting chemicals on your skin and in your air isn’t “normal”… it’s just normalized.

🚫 Use seed oils
They’re cheap, highly processed, and drive inflammation. I don’t cook with oils that work against my body.

🚫 Ignore food labels
If I can’t pronounce it or recognize it as food, it doesn’t belong in my cart—or my body.

🚫 Chase quick fixes
Detox teas, magic supplements, 7-day resets… they sell hope, not health. Real healing takes consistency.

🚫 Glorify being busy
Burnout isn’t productivity. Constant stress wrecks hormones, gut health, and nervous systems—especially for women.

Wellness isn’t extreme.
It’s intentional.
And it starts with what you stop tolerating.

Everyone falls off track sometimes, so restart when you do. No one is perfect.

Start small, simple steps lead to improved health. Grow a little each day.

Health doesn’t need to be fancy- the basics of water 💧, movement 🚶‍♀️, good whole food nutrition 🥩🥗, sleep 😴, and gentle detox 🛀, will start you off right. Allow yourself to build from these building blocks.
