Keeping up with our newest nutrition series “Workout Nutrition” - we’ve learned about blood sugar stabilization and pre-workout nutrition. Here is an example of some great pre-workout snack and meal ideas using those principles we learned about.

Warming oat berry breakfast crumble 🍓 (Tastes like desert for breakfast!)

Ingredients (1 serving):
1/2 cup plain Greek yogurt
1 scoop vanilla vegan beyond yourself protein (nourish)
1 tbsp bloom boost (nourish)
2 tsp coconut oil
1/3 cup quick oats
1 tsp organic vanilla extract (nourish)
Sprinkle real salt (nourish)
1/2 cup frozen berries of choice

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350F
Add frozen berries to the bottom of a ramekin, baking tray or any oven safe dish
In a medium sized bowl, combine protein powder, oats, coconut oil (melted), bloom boost, vanilla extract and salt
Mix together well with a spoon - mixture shouldn’t be wet and sticky and should be more on the dry side, but if it seems quite dry, add a bit more coconut oil if needed
Add crumble mixture on top of the berries and bake for 15-20 minutes
Serve on top of plain Greek yogurt for extra protein and a probiotic rich food boost 🦠

Blender Black Bean Brownie Recipe 🍫

Ingredients:
1 can black beans
3 eggs
1/2 cup organic cacao powder (Nourish 🍃)
1 cup maple syrup
1/2 cup coconut oil (melted)
2 tsp organic vanilla extract (Nourish🍃)
1/2 tsp baking powder (Nourish 🍃)
1/4 tsp real salt (Nourish 🍃)
3/4 cup chocolate chips

Instructions:
Preheat oven to 350F
Spray 8 x 8 pan with avocado oil or line pan with parchment paper
In blender - add all ingredients except chocolate chips
Blend until smooth
Stir in chocolate chips
Pour mixture into pan and add some extra chocolate chips to the top if you’re feeling feisty 💃
Bake in the oven for 30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean
Wait to cut them until they’ve cooled and they are way yummier and fudgier if you can muster up the patience to pop them in the fridge for a bit before eating! Enjoy!
