This workshop is designed for Pilates instructors looking to expand their teaching toolkit and offer a more vigorous, results-driven experience for their clients.
Description:
Elevate your teaching and help clients build real, functional strength with the "Strength & Power on the Reformer" workshop. This intensive session dives deep into programming principles that blend classical Pilates precision with dynamic, fitness-forward resistance training.
You will learn to leverage the Reformer's spring system to increase load and intensity, how to apply tactile and verbal cues to teach clients how to increase muscular strengthening using isometric, concentric, eccentric contractions and props, taking the muscles to fatigue. Learn how to use classical and contemporary Pilates exercises to create a full body strengthening class for your participants. The focus is on muscular endurance and strength, power, and stability, without sacrificing form or the core principles of control and alignment.

This 4-Week Series is a progressive 4-week series designed to introduce you to the fundamentals and principles of Reformer Pilates.
Perfect for beginners or anyone looking to revisit the fundamentals, this series builds a strong foundation in technique, strength, and mobility while helping you feel confident on the equipment.
Over the 4 weeks, you’ll learn how to safely and effectively use the Reformer, strengthen your core, improve posture, and develop body awareness. Each class builds on the last, giving you the tools and confidence to progress into our other Reformer offerings.
What to Expect Each Week:
Week 1 – Getting to Know the Reformer:
Learn the parts of the machine, safety essentials, and foundational movements. Focus on the pilates principles, while moving through the essential exercises
Week 2 – Core Stability & Control

Shamanic Drum Healings offer a sacred space, an invitation for you to receive shamanic healing, guidance, and support for an area of your life where you might be struggling or feel challenged, or looking to bring into balance. Spirit directs this healing work, often in unexpected yet beautiful ways.
This is a ceremonial space where the drum, voice, and compassionate helping spirits work together to support personal and community healing. In preparation for this session, we invite you to spend some time beforehand reflecting on what in your life feels ready to shift, release, strengthen, or come into balance. Arrive with an intention for healing, along with curiosity, openness, and care for yourself. You do not need to share your intention with others.
During the session, you’ll begin by resting on your back on a yoga mat, with eyes closed during the drumming. The rhythmic drumming helps guide the brain into a dream-like, meditative state where healing can naturally occur. Along with the drum, we may sing, chant, use rattles, light touch, or gentle movement as guided by the compassionate helping spirits with whom we work.
We start with ceremony to open. The drumming lasts approximately 1 hour and is followed by quiet integration time with tea, journaling, or simply resting with your experience. We will have a closing ceremony as well as an opportunity for communal sharing.

The Yogashala opened in 2013 and Waterdown was the first choice for a location due to its growth and potential. Yogashala’s vision was always to provide a safe, supportive and humble environment for the community, all members, teachers and staff. We wanted to break down the walls of intimidation that may come with beginning a yoga practice and stepping into a studio setting and so the personal experience that you feel as you come into Yogashala has from the beginning been the most important tool in succeeding the vision of creating a judgment free space.
We strive to be a place where you come to feel good and leave feeling even better, that happens because of the personal and hands on guidance you will receive and we achieve this due to the fact that Yogashala is not a large company, we are not a franchise, we are not a conglomerate; we are here to share our passion and our lives with the Waterdown community. Where can you find us?
In keeping with Waterdown’s full name “Victorian Village of Waterdown”, we found the perfect spot! Right in the heart of Waterdown is where you will find us. You can find us in the newly built, but Victorian style building, at 312 Dundas Street East in the lower level. In our space you will find 3 yoga rooms with one being an infrared hot room, another room having the Iyengar Rope Wall System and the third room is a regular temperature room that most often facilities the Barre classes. We offer a full service studio with shower facilities equipped with everything you need for after a class if you choose and an array of complimentary offerings if you so need!
Our mission is to give you the inspiration to live a happier, healthier life. To give you the knowledge and guidance to help you with your own transformation. To give you the motivation and encouragement to reach your destination. The perfect time to join us is now. We work in our converted and restored space. We started from the ground up and you can too.
