April may be over, but our commitment to autism advocacy isn’t tied to a calendar.

At elemenoe, this work continues all year long - in our sessions, in our programs, and in the way we show up for the individuals and families we support.

We’re especially proud of our team this month for coming together to raise over $1,000 for Autism Canada. A meaningful reminder that small actions, when done collectively, can create real impact.

Advocacy doesn’t end in April, and neither do we. 💛

Bedtime can look a lot of different ways, and that’s okay!

In one home, it might be cuddles and stories. In another, it’s quick, structured, and to the point. Even in our own homes, our routines don’t look the same.

There isn’t one “right” way to do bedtime, just what works for your child, your family, and your night!

If you’ve ever found yourself wondering if you’re doing it “right,” you’re not alone. (We definitely have!)

🎧 We unpack this more in our latest podcast episode - what actually helps, what gets in the way, and how to find a rhythm that works for you.

Our family is taking part in the Kids Can Play campaign with Autism Canada 💛

Mini Olympics… but make it at home 🏅

A few simple challenges, lots of laughs, and everyone getting involved. This is the kind of play we love, low pressure, flexible, and actually fun for the whole family.

Because kids can play, in ways that feel right for them!

It doesn’t have to be fancy to be meaningful 💛

Navigating the Ontario Autism Program can feel overwhelming, especially when you’re not sure what comes next.

We’ve created two simple, practical guides to help:
• A Parent's Guide to the OAP
• “My child just got diagnosed with autism…what’s next?”

Join us for an AccessOAP info session:
📅 May 6 | ⏰ 12:00 PM | 📍 Microsoft Teams

A helpful walkthrough of registration, programs, and care coordination, with time for questions.

Message us if you’d like the guides or have questions! 🤍

Figuring out who can provide an autism diagnosis in Ontario isn’t always straightforward, especially with long waitlists and different types of professionals involved.

In this post, we break down who can diagnose, what the process can look like, and what to consider when you’re getting started.

If you’re feeling unsure about next steps, you’re not alone, and there are options. Reach out if you want help navigating it 🤍

Sometimes it’s not structured, not polished… just dancing in the kitchen and having fun together 😆

That’s what the Kids Can Play for Autism is all about… showing that play can be anything, as long as it’s joyful and meaningful to your child.

The best moments are usually the ones no one planned.

Follow what sparks joy 🤍

This week, we’re celebrating Camila, a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst who brings warmth, insight, and a truly family-centred approach to her work with children and caregivers.

Camila entered the field in 2016 and quickly knew it was the right fit. She is especially passionate about play-based learning and early intervention, believing that the most meaningful progress happens in natural, joyful moments. She has a gift for helping children build skills in ways that feel engaging, motivating, and meaningful.

As a mom to a busy toddler, Camila understands firsthand how full family life can be. She is committed to making ABA feel supportive, practical, and genuinely helpful for the whole family, not just in sessions, but in everyday routines.

Many of us at Elemenoe have had the opportunity to work alongside Camila in the past, and we’re thrilled to now have her officially join the Elemenoe team!!

Camila brings a calm, collaborative presence to her work and is always focused on creating positive, functional outcomes that matter to each child and their family.

Our interprofessional collaborative practice makes us stronger and is better for our team, our clients, and the quality of care we provide.

We’re so glad to have Camila on the Elemenoe team!
