A vibrant community offering both Long-Term Care and Retirement Living, home to over 500 residents.

We proudly share our space beside the Research Institution for Ageing. The Village at University Gates is a long term care home located in Waterloo with a unique partnership with the Research Institute for Aging (RIA), The University of Waterloo, and Conestoga College. We believe in resident centred care with a strong emphasis on the residents needs and desires. Our partnership with research and education helps us to provide the most innovative care to our residents.

💙 Thank You, University Gates Community! 💙

Thank you to everyone who joined us on Main Street this Wednesday for our Alzheimer’s Coffee Break. All donations went directly to the Alzheimer’s Society, and together we raised $393.85 in support of this important cause.

Thank you as well to Tim Hortons for providing the coffee, hot chocolate, and Timbits that helped make the morning such a success.

We truly appreciate everyone’s support and participation. ☕💙

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our Open House today at University Gates. It was such a joy to see residents coming together, sharing laughter, catching up with friends, and welcoming one another in the spirit of community.

Guests enjoyed delicious hors d’oeuvres, festive drinks, and wonderful live entertainment, all while filling the space with great conversation and holiday cheer. Moments like these truly capture what makes life at University Gates so special.

Thank you for making today such a memorable and heart-warming celebration—we’re already looking forward to the next time we gather together!

Residents, families, team members, and neighbours came together to celebrate the season, support local vendors, and enjoy a day overflowing with festive spirit. Your presence made the event truly special.

It’s 9pm which means it’s officially time to snuggle up, get cozy, and rest those excited little hearts — because tomorrow is the Christmas Market here at the village from 10am to 3pm!

Can’t wait to see everyone there for festive treats, twinkly vibes, and all the holiday magic. Sleep tight… tomorrow is going to be merry and bright!

This weekend, our very own resident Robert had the honour of dropping the puck at Schlegel Day for the Waterloo Siskins 🏒✨
Robert has been cheering on the Siskins for over 60 years, and we’ve been so grateful to call him part of our University Gates family for almost a year.
We’re also proud to share that Schlegel day drew the biggest crowd the Siskins have seen this season — thank you to everyone who came out to cheer, support, and celebrate with us ❤️

Our community is coming together this weekend to walk 6 km in support of Women’s Crisis Services of Waterloo Region. 💜
We walk in honour of the woman who loses her life every six days to intimate partner violence in Canada.
We walk for women of every generation.
