Merry Christmas! 🎄

As we enjoy being together and all of the things this holiday has to offer, we remember the reason we celebrate this day: “For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)

The ornaments on this Christmas tree were handmade across the Karis community. You can find a behind-the-scenes look at how they were made at: https://youtube.com/shorts/sB1pZ_yrqcM

This week we celebrated International Day of Persons with Disabilities! From Waterloo to Niagara and all places in between, we celebrated the spirit of this year’s theme - fostering inclusivity to advance progress in all our communities. Our conversations on the meaning of self advocacy and community building were mixed in with laughter and joy. It was a great day 🙌🏼

Happy International Day of Persons with Disabilities!

Greetings from the West District Our Voices Matter chapter. 👋

We are wishing you a very happy International Day of Persons with Disabilities! Today is about celebration. 🎉

Today is also about awareness and action. Each one of us has a part to play as we create communities where all people with disabilities have their God-given gifts valued and celebrated.

Help us keep the celebrations going!

Help us keep the celebrations going!

It's a day to give! This Giving Tuesday, you can help somebody feel valued and celebrated.

Delia recently showed the spirit of giving to her friend and housemate, Patti-Ann. Delia and Patti-Ann have shared many memories together in their decades of friendship. Recently, Delia comforted Patti-Ann during a power outage in their apartment. When Patti-Ann was startled and upset in the sudden darkness, Delia dried her tears and brought her a lantern to hold - bringing light into the darkness.

As we journey forward together, your gift can also be a light in your community. 💡
