30-40% of mental-health appointments being missed, Health PEI says. Health PEI is looking into ways to help patients access services easier, whether it is through text messages, email reminders, and online sessions. Here at ACT Associates, our therapists are able to accommodate your needs with online sessions. Please give our office a call and speak with Jason at (519) 884 - 6784 regarding which appointment option would best meet your need.

Some Islanders are not keeping their mental-health appointments and that means longer wait times for everyone.

Check out what the city of Calgary is doing to streamline Mental Health and Addictions services for consumers accessing services - one million dollar fund has been created to prevent people from falling through the cracks. CBC has a great article about what Mayor Nenshi is doing to make a difference in his city.

The city is asking for people to pitch their ideas for ways to help Calgarians who are struggling with mental health and addiction issues to better access existing systems of support.

One of the supports ACT Associates offers is our SEAM Program, supporting individuals struggling with Addictions issues. Through group education and discussion periods, participants are able to learn and grow together towards a healthier tomorrow. CBC's article on youth hospitalization due to addictions was a real eye opener. Perhaps someone in your circle is struggling with this in their family. Feel free to share this article with them. https://www.cbc.ca/news/health/cannabis-alcohol-substances-youth-cihi-1.5289135://www.cbc.ca/news/health/cannabis-alcohol-substances-youth-cihi-1.5289135://www.cbc.ca/news/health/cannabis-alcohol-substances-youth-cihi-1.5289135

A new report says thousands of young people in Canada were hospitalized last year due to cannabis, alcohol and other substance use, and experts say the numbers highlight the need for more mental health supports in the community.
