We are officially open
Our receptionist will be contacting patients from the past 3 months so please be patient
To be compliant with government regulations below you will find changes to our clinic.

(1) Brush your teeth at home for 5 minutes to make sure your teeth are clean and healthy. Our tooth brushing station is temporarily closed.

(2)Check your braces – any braces loose or broken? If you have a breakage that we are not aware of in advance, we will have to reschedule the repair.

(3)Use the bathroom before your appointment. Our bathroom is temporarily closed.
Our staff will be wearing extra PPE so our office will be cold. Dress accordingly.

(4)Wash your hands before coming to the appointment.

(5)We are asking that the adult accompanying our patient remain in their car or they may watch from the windows outside the clinic. Our reception area will be closed. Appointment times will be spread out to permit fewer patients at a time.

(6)When you have arrived call us 905 993-1513. We will let you know when we are ready to have you enter

(7)All patients must bring their own facemasks/face coverings. You will not be permitted entry without one.

(8)Our greeter will open welcome you at the door, take your temperature, ask a few health screening questions and instruct you to use hand sanitizer.
If your temperature is 100 or greater, we cannot see you for your appointment and recommend you notify your physician.

(9)Our waiting room will follow social distancing

(10)Patients will need to wear their facemask/covering until they are seated for their orthodontic adjustment

Hello Molon Orthodontic Family,

As you may have heard, the Medical Officer of Health recently announced that dentists and dental specialists in Ontario will be able to resume elective dental services when the Royal College of Dentists of Ontario gives them permission to do so. We are still waiting for this permission but it should come soon.

We are excited to return to in-office patient care. Just as it was prior to COVID, your health and safety will remain our primary concerns. You will notice several additions to our infection control procedures at your next visit. Some have been mandated by Ontario Public Health and others have been added based on our research into the science of eliminating transmission of this virus.

Social distancing and new PPE standards require us to see fewer patients at a time. For your safety and ours, we must follow the Ontario Public Health regulations strictly. We are working longer hours and more days every week. We have also seen patients virtually to minimize foot traffic as we start to work through our backlog. Still, the limitations of our new “COVID schedule” will restrict our ability to see some of you as soon as we’d all like.

Please understand that we have 12 weeks worth of appointments to catch up on. Patients whose appliances may have caused harm will be the first ones seen. But in general, we will be following the schedule that was in place prior to lockdown, so patients who had appointments cancelled in March will receive appointments before those who had appointments cancelled in May. We know that your first appointment may not happen as soon as you would like. We understand your frustration but health and safety must be our priorities.

Please be patient and allow us to call you to book your appointment. We have been working very hard on the logistics of overcoming our appointment shortage. We need your trust and cooperation.

While waiting for the Dental College and Government of Ontario to allow us to see patients, here are some tips to minimize any potential problems:

Maintain excellent oral hygiene, including brushing after meals and flossing daily
For patients in fixed braces, avoid hard foods
If you have an expander or other device that requires you to activate it - please STOP turning the expander or appliance until we resume normally scheduled visits
If you are in fixed braces or Clear Aligners and are using elastics, MOVE TO WEARING ELASTICS ONLY AT NIGHT-TIME until we resume normally scheduled visits
For those who have finished their treatment and are wearing retainers, follow the instructions that were provided at your last visit regarding the wear-time of your retainers
If your bonded retainers break or become loose and you are less than 6 months out of treatment WEAR YOUR REMOVABLE RETAINER FULL TIME. If you are more than 6 months out of braces, make sure you are wearing your retainer EVERY NIGHT until we resume normally scheduled visits and we can repair the break

Coronavirus (COVID-19) Update
OFFICE CLOSURE
Currently the Royal College of Dental Surgeons of Ontario (RCDSO) has recommended that all elective dental services in Ontario be postponed until further notice from the RCDSO. This bold decision is in the interest of public safety and we at Molon Orthodontics fully support this decision.
In light of this RCDSO decision, our team will be contacting all of our orthodontic patients once RCDSO allows us to see patients again.
During this temporary closure, please call our office if you have an orthodontic emergency and we will make arrangements to assist and advise you.
In this time of uncertainty, we urge EVERYONE to stay home, enjoy your family and practice social distancing. Months from now, we will all be thankful that these measures were taken to ensure the safety of our loved ones.
