Hey everyone! Here is the much awaited answer to the question you've been asking, the clinic will be opening up this week!! Now before you all get too excited please note that, due to the protocols put in place by our governing college and by our clinic, I will only be working on Wednesdays and Thursdays for the time being. For people looking to book in, we have been prioritizing patients who we had to previously cancel, but please feel free to call anyway as there may be someone who decides to forego their appointment.
New protocols and procedures have been put in place to mitigate the spread of COVID-19, please read on to get a brief idea of what has changed.
In the clinic we have, of course, increased our frequency of cleaning and disinfecting. Anything that a patient or therapist has come into contact with will be disinfected immediately after every appointment. We apologize if we are a little late coming to get you for your appointment, there's just a lot of stuff that needs to be cleaned!
Our cancellation policy is temporarily lifted, so if you feel unwell or even just unsure of coming in for your appointment, we understand, contact us to cancel at any time.
You will notice our therapists will be wearing masks and there will be hand sanitizer available for use. We also require all staff to prescreen themselves everyday and they will not be coming in if they are feeling unwell.
We are doing our very best to minimize the spread of COVID-19 so that you can feel safe coming in.
Now onto all the stuff we require of you guys in order for us to offer a safe practice environment.
*****PLEASE DO NOT COME TO YOUR APPOINTMENT IF YOU ARE EXPERIENCING ANY COLD OR FLU SYMPTOMS, YOU WILL BE TURNED AWAY.*****
If you are feeling at all unwell please call us and we will cancel your appointment, no questions asked. This is for the safety of everyone that comes to our clinic, as we do treat a lot of people with a lot of different healthcare needs. Yes, we have dramatically increased our daily cleaning protocols but this does not ensure 100% removal of COVID-19, and so we ask that if there is even a small chance you may not be at 100% do not come to your appointment. It's just not worth the risk.
For your appointment:
1. Expect a phone call the day before your appointment, we will be requesting individuals do a pre screen before their appointment. This entails answering a few questions and listening to an overview of new protocols. Please answer the phone if you see the clinic calling, if you dont have us saved in your phone the number is 250-768-2727. We will be asking you the same questions as the BC COVID-19 self assessment tool available at: https://bc.thrive.health/covid19/en
2. When you arrive for your appointment, WAIT IN/NEAR YOUR CAR until your practitioner comes to get you or calls your cellphone to come in. We will not be allowing people in the waiting room so we can safely adhere to social distancing protocols. Please use the stalls marked for the clinic so it's easy for us to see you've arrived!
3. Once you are let in the clinic please immediately sanitize your hands by either: a) going directly to the washroom and washing your hands with soap and water for at least 20 seconds or b) use the provided hand sanitizer at the front counter. Please do not touch anything else in the clinic before you do this.
4. We will require every patient to fill out a pre-screen/consent form prior to every appointment for the time being.
5. If you want to wear a mask please bring one of your own, you are not required to wear a mask. All therpists will be wearing masks for their appointments to mitigate chances of asymptomatic spread.
6. Please try to avoid touching your face, and if you need to, use a provided tissue. No, we aren't going to send you home if you happen to touch your face with your hand, I dont think we'd have any patients left if we did that! This is just a simple reminder.
7. Your therapist will be the one to open/close treatment room doors and guide you to and from the treatment rooms. The only instance we ask that you touch the door is when you are ready to leave the treatment room at the end of your appointment and, before you touch the handle, please use the provided hand sanitizer in the room. The door handle will be cleaned for you before the therapist leaves the room.
8. We prefer to have no cash payments during this time, so please be prepared with credit or debit, our machine is cleaned after every use.
9. We ask that once you've finished paying/rescheduling you leave the clinic, we do enjoy talking with you but, we have to keep the waiting room clear so other patients can come and go.
We thank you for following these guidelines, though it may seem overwhelming to some people, they are in place so we can offer everyone a safe experience when coming into our clinic.
I look forward to seeing all of you, and eventually returning to a more normal/safe daily routine!
****If you have come into the clinic for an appointment and then notice you start experiencing any cold/flu symptoms, call us and let us know IMMEDIATELY! There will be no judgements or assumptions made, we simply need to know if someone in the clinic is at risk of spreading the virus to others.*****
I have really only touched on the basics of what we are doing and what protocols have been put in place, we will have a full run down on everything on our website ASAP and once I have a copy I will also be posting it on here.
Determine whether you may need further assessment or testing for COVID-19.
