Co-dependency is when a person's need for approval or validation from others allows them to be controlled or manipulated, or that person might even attempt to do the same to someone else. Here are a few characteristics:

- Assuming responsibility for other's feelings and behaviors.
- Having difficulty identifying or expressing your own feelings
- Worrying about how others might respond to your feelings, opinions, or behaviors.
- Over-functioning to be needed, valued, or loved.
- Overly caring for others at the expense of your own needs.
- Being extremely loyal to the point of remaining in harmful situations too long.
- Tolerating and justifying abuse from others.

Set boundaries, accept Jesus as your Higher Power, and realize that you are not responsible for how others may think or feel about you.

“Insanity has been defined as doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.”

“Sanity,” on the other hand, “is wholeness of mind — making decisions based on the truth.”

At Celebrate Recovery, we’re learning to stop repeating old patterns that keep us stuck and start choosing truth — God’s truth — that leads to real change. 💚

Healing, hope, and freedom are possible when we surrender and walk together.

If we were perfect we wouldn't need God.
