FLU SHOT AND RSV CLINIC

We will be hosting a FLU shot and RSV shot clinic on Wed Nov 5th from 3pm-6pm.
You will need to sign up on our website. It doesn't matter the time you sign up for, just pick a spot and you can come anytime from 3-6pm.

FLU SHOTS: open to anyone 6 months of age or older. If this is the first flu shot in the child's life, they will need a booster in 4 weeks.

RSV:
Born April 1, 2025, or after and less than 8 months of age up to the end of the RSV season.
• Up to 24 months of age who remain vulnerable to severe RSV disease through their second RSV
season, following a discussion with a health care provider, including children with:
o Chronic lung disease or hemodynamically significant congenital heart disease
o Severe immunodeficiency or Down syndrome/Trisomy 21
o Cystic fibrosis with recurrent pulmonary exacerbations requiring hospitalization,
deteriorating pulmonary function and/or severe growth delay
o Neuromuscular disease impairing clearing of respiratory secretions
o Severe congenital airway anomalies impairing the clearing of respiratory secretions

How we care for your child.

We are a Pediatric Urgent Care Centre doing many of the things that ERs do. The clinic provides walk in service for Paediatric patients under the age of 18.

We take a whole child approach, not just the specific problem so our visits are longer, hence you may have to wait a bit longer to be seen. Longer visits are one of the ways we provide thorough, thoughtful care for your child or adolescent.

We manage all routine acute problems such as fevers, respiratory illness, gastrointestinal illness, neurologic problems, seizures, urinary tract symptoms, rashes, head injuries, sprains, strains, simple fractures and lacerations. We can apply splints or casts. We suture, staple or glue lacerations. We manage most of the things that an Emergency room does.

If your child has been seen by your family doctor and your family doctor is concerned that there may be something that requires a Pediatric evaluation, we are available for urgent same or next day consultation. Your family doctor just has to call us. If your child requires hospitalization, we can arrange direct admission to the Pediatric ward at Lakeridge Oshawa without having to go through the Emergency Room. We also have ongoing connections with Sick Kids if required.
