Rest is important after an acute injury. But when pain sticks around for weeks, prolonged inactivity usually makes things worse. Muscles weaken. Joints stiffen. Movement patterns that were already problematic don't correct themselves on the couch.
Here's the part most people miss: rest doesn't retrain how your body moves. If faulty mechanics caused the problem, stopping won't address them. Your body needs guided movement to rebuild strength, restore coordination, and regain confidence in moving without pain.
That doesn't mean pushing through severe discomfort. It means working with someone who understands the right balance between rest and strategic movement for where you are right now.
Movement is medicine, but it needs to be the right kind at the right time. Ready to move forward? Tap the link in our bio.
