Winter colds are common. We still treat them. Common should never be mistaken for normal. That’s the part people forget.

When it comes to pelvic floor symptoms, leaks, urgency, and pelvic heaviness can be common after babies or during perimenopause, but that doesn’t mean they get the green light to keep happening.

If your body is changing how you dress, how you move, or how you plan your day, it’s worth paying attention. 🌹

If you’re new to diastasis recti (DR), here’s the simplest way to understand what we mean by “functional” tissue.

The gap itself is not the whole story. The big question is how the connective tissue between your ab muscles is behaving. That tissue is called the linea alba, and it’s supposed to act like support.

Silly Putty tissue has some firmness and bounce when you gently engage your core. Plastic wrap tissue feels thin and gives way easily. Note: this doesn’t automatically mean you have DR. It just means the tissue isn’t giving much support right now.

Not a diagnosis, just a helpful visual so you know what you’re even checking for.

Save this for your next little core check in.❤️

With all the help for postpartum pelvic floors content that we put out, there's a special group we should mention because it applies to them too: c-section mamas. A lot of women assume having a C-section = "your pelvic floor is fine” and then feel confused when the leaks, heaviness, or urgency still show up.

The truth is that pregnancy itself puts a huge amount of load on your core and pelvic floor. Your organs move, your pressure changes, your body compensates in all kinds of ways, and all that happens long before giving birth.

A C-section also comes with its own set of challenges. Scar tension, guarding, breath-holding, and weakened deep core muscles can all contribute to leaking or discomfort later on. So if you’re dealing with symptoms and you don’t know why, it's a sign your body needs support.

If you’re curious about what might be going on, feel free to message us. No pressure to book anything. Just a conversation.

Kegels have been sold as the answer to every leak, heavy feeling, or weird pressure we experience as women. But if your pelvic floor’s already tight or overworked, more squeezing can in fact, make things worse, not better. You might need more strength, or your muscles might actually need help relaxing. That’s why it helps to figure out what’s really going on, instead of just adding random Kegels and hoping they help. If you’re not sure what your pelvic floor needs, you’re definitely not the only one. You can always message us and we can talk through what might make sense for your body.

Decades in women’s health and we still hear the same worries on repeat.

“I guess leaking is just mom life now.”
“Sex is supposed to hurt after a baby, right”
“My core is ruined.”
“I should be back to normal by now.”

None of these are personal failures. They are signs your body has been through a lot and needs support, not silence. Postpartum healing is physical, emotional, hormonal, and it takes longer than the six week check.

If you see yourself in any of these, you are not being dramatic. You're allowed to ask questions, say “this doesn’t feel right,” and most of all, get real answers. If you want a private space to talk it through, we can always walk through your options together. No pressure to book anything, just drop us a line. You’d be surprised how many things women think they just have to live with can actually be treated.

Stretch marks weren't on the vision board, but here we are.

You might have tried the oils and creams, and sure, maybe they help a bit with comfort, but chances are the marks are still there. It can feel like no matter what you do, that's all you see when you look in the mirror.

Morpheus8 works under the surface of the skin, where those marks actually live. It doesn't erase them completely, but it can help them feel softer, look smoother, and blend in more with the skin around them so they're not the first thing your eyes go to every time you get dressed.

If you're curious whether it might be an option for your postpartum belly or “tiger stripes” feel free to reach out and ask questions first. No pressure to book any sessions. We're here.

Sometimes we wait for our doctor to bring things up because we don’t want to sound dramatic or like we’re complaining.

But pelvic floor issues are rarely on the standard checklist. Leaks, pressure, heaviness, that “something is falling” feeling often go unasked and unanswered.

You are NOT being difficult if you say, “I’ve been having some pelvic floor symptoms. Can we talk about that?”

Advocating for yourself doesn’t make you a problem patient. It makes you someone who deserves proper care. Which you DO.

If you want a quiet, private place to sort through what you’re feeling, we’re here to talk it through with you.
